Re: Popped the cherry on the Micro

That's a really nice buck! Congrats. I love the thick beams and tines all the way to their tips. I'm sure you had no problem staying warm while dragging him out.

Re: factory vs aftermrkt scope - how much better in low light

I'm interested in the replies for the same reason. I have a couple Dead Zone scopes and haven't had any issues with them. I did notice on a cloudy day that about fifteen minutes after sunset, which is prime time for movement, I was really having issues seeing anything other than the main crosshair a...

Re: Patch of of fur missing

Stupid me worried about nothing... it was dragged in from back of the bush lot.. didnt have 4 wheeler available..its path has lots of rocks. :D I have this issue with every one I harvest, especially the heavier ones. I only have to drag a few hundred yards and its mostly downhill, but we have plent...

That's an awesome buck! It must have been exciting having one that big that close when you're only 8 feet up. Congratulations.

Re: The perfect crossbow scope reticle

I'm sure its probably available a few places because some folks have items on the shelves for years.

Here's one location that appears to have them in stock.

Re: Legal shooting hours

All of the states I have hunted in have 1/2 before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset as the legal hours. I'm fortunate that the vast majority of my seasons are either sex, so I could theoretically hunt until its practically dark if I didn't care how big the deer was. On a cloudy day, it gets hard to ...

Re: Bargain Heads Up

I stopped by the Cabelas in Hartford CT over the weekend. They had several Micro's on clearance. I honestly was not looking to buy a new bow. I couldn't help myself when the tag for a Micro 355 said $525. It also came with a C2 cocker. Ahhhhhhh! Please stop! And it was with a C2! Ahhhhhhh...

Thinning the pack

Well, the November part of my deer season this year has been pitiful. I was fortunate to bag an 8pt with my muzzleloader, but I put in a lot of time and he was the only buck that size that I saw. None of the other nice bucks the I had on trail camera through mid-October have appeared on trail camera...

With his help I started keeping my eye on the bullseye until the arrow strikes the target.
That's a great tip that has helped me. I've caught myself trying raise up and watch the nock. Trying to watch the shot through the scope pretty much forces you to follow through.

That looks very nice! I'd be really proud to have one turn out that good on a first attempt. I like the color scheme. Congrats on an even finer trophy.

OT: Smokepole Daily Double

My annual week of vacation during the opening week of muzzleloader season in Northern Virginia has always been a part of my season I look forward to fondly. It normally coincides with some part of the rut and more often that not I'm successful in bagging a buck (or two). This year has been a tough o...

Re: No buck this season, by choice.

Ca you carry both bow and gun at the same time when gun season is open ? We sure can. I might have to consider that. I've done that in the past with my pistol and bow during gun doe season. Then I realized there was no use in bringing the pistol. If it ever gets in bow range, I'd much rather take t...

Re: No buck this season, by choice.

Can't you use your crossbow in your muzzleloader or other gun seasons? I can and do, but with my luck that buck would hang out all day 60 yards away. After the opening weekend of the month long doe only gun season, I carried my Micro exclusively. One of the two doe I arrowed this year was dur...
