Re: It's that time of year again

That truly is a work of art!

Hard to believe that it comes from the land of Fiats!

If you need to use a C-2, you need a backup.

Re: Arrows and accuracy

The groups shown by Wildcater are outstanding considering the low power scope setting. Believe me, it’s easier with 8 power set on my 2-8 scope on my 405 or 36 power on my 380 benchrest setup.

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

SEW Have you tried sk 300 offset Yes, my favorite! I had early vane adhesion problems. The Blazers were almost as accurate. I found offset SK300s slightly more effective with Xbow Tricks than helical Blazers. I might try again myself. If I were having Jerry, Boo, etc making my arrows, I’d request o...

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

FooFoo,

Please contribute. You’re likely the most knowledgeable on arrows for extreme accuracy than anyone else here.

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

Concerning twist vs accuracy. Yesterday, I was shooting 3 different arrows: 1) 18”Zombies,26g insert, 170g FPs, 2 degree offset Blazers 2) 18” Zombies, 110/100g FP, Helical Blazers 3) 20” Executioners, 92g inserts, 100g FPs, a vane that creates 50% more spin than helical Blazers I just had limited t...

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

I’ve found offset Blazers will control SFs, Rage, FOCs, etc very well without the additional drag of helical. I’m starting to do testing of offset, helical Blazers and another vane that is spins significantly more: in xwinds with field points, expandible practice heads(SF & Rage) and fixed broadhead...

Happy birthday also. Hope to meet you this year.

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

Long Carbine, Some fixed broadheads are more controllable than others. I always try to get the least foc that is accurate and the least drag that will adequately steer. The least foc and the least drag will give the arrow the highest ballistic coefficient, ie, flattest trajectory. More foc and more ...

Re: Arrow testing Matrix

Screw on sunshade. Will remove most of time. Yes, good observation on scope - bad picture. I just want to see what's possible. Easiest way to get better groups at range - increase scope power. Simms had sent the stabilizer to test. It does work and is very suitable for this application. I realize, t...

Arrow testing Matrix

I’ve set up my M380 just for testing various arrows at others request and for working on arrow design for myself. I want minimal fletching drag and minimal foc needed to keep tight groups out to 100 yds. If it shoots great at 100, it’ll shoot great at 60. I took my M380 and added a few items. Airbra...

Twilight vs TR530IL

Background : I’ve been disassembling various Excalibur models to educate myself on riser differences and limb design. But that’s not the subject of this thread and will likely never be the subject of a thread I’ll start. I recently got a TR530IL and one of my borrowed Excal’s has a new Twilight from...

Re: Black ops bull dog 400

BD400 speed vs M380. BD400 IS 5’/sec faster. Speed factors are arrow weight, string composition and weight, limb differences, brace height. Each xbow has an optimum brace height for speed. For the BD400 it is exactly as Peter says : 2” from riser rail junction. I also found my optimum BH for my M380...
