Re: new line of crossbows

I have 4 Excalibur xbows: 2 bought new (M380 & M405) and 2 bought used (M405 & BD400). I got a lot more for the money with the 2 used xbows. As has been previously mentioned and is just intuitive, recurve xbows can only come in so many versions. The bullpup/Bulldog stock redesign is a step forward i...

Hmmmm, you guys are a bad influence! I'm holding out for the 480.

Paul
I want at least a 300-320 # Equinox. That'd get us closer to 425+'/sec.

Re: Matrix 380 vs Matrix Bulldog 400

I have both. Cocking is about the same. The BD400 is about 5'/sec faster. I'm slowly getting to prefer the BD over the 380. I would NOT get rid of a 380 for a BD400 if much money difference was involved. I think the 400 will be able to get an integral cocker. The M380 is slightly longer. Weight is a...

Re: EXC3 Crank?

It's pretty obvious that the bulldog/bullpup stock design was made for an integral cocker: don't see that on the Matrix. For actual hunting, I like my xbow as uncluttered as practical. A field quiver (canvas target quiver) with my expandible broadhead tipped arrows as well as a C-2 crank, both, in m...

Re: Starting to feel like Moon (Tom Butler)

Mike, I think I have my collection. 2 set up very light, 2 for longer range/low light. One thing I have found, and it's intuitive, when I use a heavier stranded string(more strands) and heavier arrows, the xbow is less finicky and the points of impact, month to month stay better. I still have my 4hp...

Re: 3"Blazer 1 degree offset VS 2"helical input

A couple of years ago, I did a test of 3 fletchings for Boo. 18" Zombies, 210 g insert/point weight. SK200 - helical SK300 - offset Blazers - helical and my own arrows - Blazers 2 degree offset. Serious benchrest techniques were used at 80 & 100 yds. With field points - nearly all were equally accur...

Let me know, and I can mail immediately.

Another test.

This deer was taken Christmas Day , 1990 with a PSE Foxfire 1 (125# pull, 225'/sec). 47 yds in a freezing rain with a PSE arrow/145g Bear Super Razorhead.

Left to right: M380 & M405 /Zeiss XB75s, BD400 & M405/ Optimizers/Duralyt 2-8 lighted.
Solution (350) down below.
My wife thinks I have enough.

Actually, this was a picture posting test.
