any excal bow will kill a bear like any other animal its shot placement. speed is not the factor to killing i shot a bunch of bears with my longbow @170 fps. 2nd thing is a sharp broadheads 3rd is patience to take the best shot. jmo

That's pretty close to what the outfitter said. The bear comes in and the hunter thinks it is leaving so takes a bad shot. Alot times there is bigger bear coming or the bear will come back more relaxed. I know the 315 would do the job but dagnamit, the suppressor is so sweet. I just needed an excuse.

When you said you hunt near the dam. Did you mean the George Stevenson Dam? Ho far is that from driftwood? Do you do most of your Bear Hunting in that area?
