Arrow Retainer Needed

Post by Bcxbow » Mon Mar 12, 2018 11:31 am

I am looking for a arrow retainer spring (bar) that is approximately 5 1/2” total length including the mounting holes for my m380, the one that is currently on mine is a little over 7” long including the mounting holes.

PM me or email [email protected]

Thanks

I recently ordered one from Excalibur. I think it was around 15.00 and it had the shrink wrap on it.. :)

I modified the brush that ten point uses and put it on my 380 and my eclipse. Works great.

A dremmel tool would get it done in 15 minutes.

Could you post a pic? I've never seen one and for some reason my brain keeps picturing a toothbrush head glued under a retainer. Hey.....

Edit: I googled it and I noticed its flat where it contacts the arrow. Wouldn't a slight hollow to fit the arrow be better? After all, a whisker biscuit round. I'm thinking about wear factor. Just pondering not criticizing. :D

Thanks Hank, I’m probably just over complicating it worried I’ll screw it up.

Naw, just use a piece of paper and a pencil to shade in the edges and screw holes, then place or tape onto retainer. Mark your back cut and center punch the screw holes. When I did one, I had a cup of water handy to keep the temper as I cut the excess off with the Dremmel disc. Little oil when your drilling (spring steel) your holes, some light sanding, and Bob's your Uncle. Or Aunt, who knows these days.

Thanks for all the input and ideas guys. This has been handled by a very generous offer from a forum member.

To use the Ten Point retention brush I had to clamp it in a vice, level it and cut about 1/8" off the top with a hacksaw. Then use a file/course sandpaper and remove just enough material on each side so as to allow it to fit into the middle slot on the underside of the scope rail. Use an existing hole or if needed drill one on the scope rail and screw it down. It really works great. Hope this helps. Sorry I can't post a picture. It says my file is too large and I don't know how to resize it.
