Marooned!

Post by hankenhunter » Thu May 10, 2018 7:25 pm

Well, the Mrs. And I have been stranded for five days due to rising waters from melting snow packs. The bridges are flooded and crews are fighting like mad to keep them from washing away. About a thousand people are stranded with us. Everyones getting a little angry with the mayor because he should have known this was going to happen and prepared for it. Everyone knew the snow pack was 60 percent higher except our mayor it seems. He isn't answering phone calls either. Lol. No zombies yet, but I put one of Mike's strings on just in case and polished up my zombie slayers. My wife drew the line at me cutting shooting slits in the wall with my chainsaw so that sucks. The woman has no sense of priorities. I live a stones throw from the creek turned raging river and have been entertained by all the folks who come and stare at the torrent and shake their heads. The weird part is that it's been sunny and hot every day. Today we got one of those gulley washers where the water pours from the sky, so tomorrow may be.... interesting. I sure hope this isn't the new normal. :eusa-violin:

Stay safe Hank! Hope the water subsides soon, and you all make it out with little, or no damage.

We're free! Some genius (I mean smart not dumb) got the idea to use a log loader to poke a big long pole under the bridge and shove the debris out from under it. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the well wishes. Cheers,
