Re: How many days have you bow hunted for Deer this season?
Reading some of the posts, the success rate seems hard to believe, I mean you guys have good deer populations and know where and how to hunt. I lost access to couple places around here, including my best deer hunting farm. The other places, there's no deer, an occasional track may be. I hear the sam...

Re: Range Finders
I just got Nicon prostaff 650 yards model. I haven't used rangefinder in many years and I was pleasantly surprised by the small size of the unit. OTOH, I am not very happy with it because the display is in black and I can hardly see it near the end of legal shooting time, also the eye relief is migh...

Re: At least I heard a deer
munch, I agree. While I am not big into deer hunting, I spent a lot of time hunting around northern GTA and I can say I see less and less deer and deer sign every year. Where I used to see deer all the time 5-6 years ago, I see nothing today, no tracks, no scrapes. BTW, one of the measures MNR is us...

Re: Hit a buck need advice
Always use a dog to find wounded deer.
It can die from bleeding even without hitting the lung.
Might take overnight. At that temp the meat should be good.
If you're in ON not too far from GTA - let me know (I have dogs), but sounds like you're in the US.

Re: Aluminum vs carbon
Indeed, thanks for the mug idea, always learn something here.
There was another argument against fg/carbon, they used to shatter occasionally at the moment of release , I have no idea if it is still a concern, but some people were badly injured in the past.

Re: O / T Home Smoked Bacon
Good looking hog.
Would you share your summer sausage recipe?
Please take more pics of your smoker. How is it insulated?
Is it 'home' built?
How do you use the probe/controller?
How long do you cold smoke and at what temp?
thanks
