I have two Ameristep Dog House TSC pop-ups. I have left them up for extended amounts of time 30 to 90 days, both on a friends farm and at my camp in the Western UP they have shown no ill affects. They have survived windstorms and heave snowfalls. With snow they may collapse (20 to 30 inches) but you...

Gold Tip sent me 24 shafts with inserts to replace the ones I had trouble with. Tim, Casey and the whole gang at Gold Tip took care of the problem with no questions asked. They have my thanks and will continue to get my business. The way it was explained to me is they had expanded their operations t...

Jimbo, If you can find an old Boy Scout Field manual it showed how to build a crossbow using a single leaf out of a leaf spring from a truck. Should be able to get one cheep from a junk yard. You would be recycling.   My grandfather and I made one when I was 9. It worked good (to goo...

I have some of the light shafts. I found them as I assembled new bolts. I check the weight of assembled shafts as I build them. I contacted Tim Gillingham at Gold Tip and they replaced the shafts. If you cannot weigh the shafts you can measure the diamater. The correct dia. is 0.343 in. the light sh...

Allen, Yes what you say it true as far as you take it. The example as I recall is the bowling ball and a feather, it only works in a vacuum. If you hold a bolt or arrow in your hand and drop it the time it takes to hit the ground from that height will be the same as the time it will take to drop to ...

Jh45gun, I think the difference is in the mass of the arrow. My bolts weigh 400 Gr. and my 2315 arrows (my light arrows) weigh 600 Gr. The 2219 arrows for big critters weigh 650 Gr. The heaver arrows have more energy stored in their mass. The two flying at similar velocities the heaver projectile wi...
