The little ones are going to love that little dog . beagles make just good pets. they also are good rabbit dogs and great deer hunters.

I am going to put the groove in the back with a chainsaw file, just haven't got there yet. It has a few imperfections in it that I know of. I work in a large lumber mill so I will keep my eyes open as I grade maple and I might try one more with a piece of curly maple. That one is walnut.

I don't have a top mount but I am wondering if they effect the range finder that is mounted over your scope?

These are all true points, and everyone copies other ideas for there own use and there is nothing wrong with it, why buy it if you can make it. I don't make much for my bow but I do make a lot of stuff for my boat, at a vey small price compared to buying it.
