Re: Excalibur open sights

I tried doing a test fit of a Daisy 5996 match grade air rifle sight with a weaver/picatinny to 11mm dovetail adapter would fit on my target bow and it feels pretty solid. I ordered the two pack of adapters and had to install the one that I am actually using with the screw head on the left side of t...

Re: Excalibur open sights

Are you trying to have a multiple pin setup in front and an aperture rear sight? Or would a single front globe sight and rear aperture work? Is there an air rifle sight that would work for what you are trying to do that would just need to be adapted to mount to your bow? Do you have guardian anti dr...

Re: guardian anti dryfire design flaw.

I started modifying the regular and guardian scope mounts back in 2015 to be countersunk.

Definitely takes out the slop in the factory setup on them.

Re: Looking for used guardian adf and peep sights

Were you wanting to use the peep sights with the guardian adf? The mounting location for the factory peep sight in the rear cannot be used at the same time as the guardian adf. You might be able to mount a picatinny peep sight to the top of the adf along with the front sights although the height may...

Making it harder to forget your rope cocking aid

I was looking at a way to save a bit of weight by reducing the amount of stuff to take to the woods and I came up with combining using my rope cocking aid as a sling on the bow. It was time to redo the 550 cord on my rope cocking aid, so I left both ends a bit long after where the knots stop the han...

Forearm hand saver for Exo series bows

The later Exo series bows added an additional half an inch to the forearm to keep fingers and thumbs out of the way of the string. So I decided to put together a cad model that would add that additional half inch spacing to the bottom of the forearm. https://i.postimg.cc/ydmKzG0r/IMG-20211123-123517...

Re: Exocet to target bow conversion

Hatchet, Sorry to hear that the machine shop that you took it to was not able to do a decent job on the modifications. Good to hear that you were able to at least get it fixed up yourself afterwards. I do this type of machining as a hobby so I am not particularly rushed on fun one off jobs like rise...

Re: Exocet to target bow conversion

Hatchet, The reduced power limbs look the same as their full power versions, although the only reduced power limbs I have seen have been all black. Here is a magtip set on the Apex https://i.postimg.cc/g0KdT98T/IMG-20211028-192346195.jpg Along with a carved tip set showing the reduced power and full...

Re: Exocet to target bow conversion

The carved tip Exocets were 165 pounds and the first mag tip limb versions were listed at 175 pounds. To get to the desired poundage it looks like it will require shaving off around 5 inches. I laid out what material would need trimmed down with marker. The very front sides of the stock will need a ...

Exocet to target bow conversion

My Moultrie 440 pound game scale arrived so I was able to start taking measurements of poundage versus draw distance. The bow was originally an Exocet 175 with a set of Magtip limbs. I set the brace height at 1" and zeroed out the scale. I took measurements in one inch increments and got the fo...

Re: Safety Lever

I used a clamping block with an ER32 collet to hold the plastic for drilling. Makes it really easy to hold round stuff for further work after I took it out of the lathe. 3D printing an extension that clips together would be a nice way to make them even lighter weight and I do like Norm's method of b...

Re: Safety Lever

I built two different versions to try on a Micro 355, the first was from 3/8" aluminum rod and used an M3 screw to hold it together. There is very little clearance between the stock and the safety lever when in the down position. It did tilt a bit when tightening up. https://i.postimg.cc/rFr6qj...

Re: 2219 flat nocks....

Are you trying to find the Easton composite inserts for the rear that were still threaded? Or are you trying to find the Easton Flat Nocks for 22 series arrows that weigh 8 grains and are Easton PN714254? Or a different flat nock for the rear?

Re: Adding a Picatinny rail

Cocking with the dial on this is not too bad, especially as I do not have the side extension on the HHA. Would be interesting to see how much lower the Tetra is versus the Optimizer, although probably does not make a huge difference in total height. I also looked at directly machining the picatinny ...
