Re: Awshucks is No More

What a shock! I always enjoyed Dan's way of simplifying things and his deep knowledge of flint shooting, something we had in common from our pasts. I suppose that there is some consolation in that he died doing what he loved, but he's going to be missed by a lot of people, both on the forum, and off...

Re: matrix 405 trigger problem

This issue affects you whether you test your 405 and it is OK, or not. When they left the factory they were ALL ok, and if you don't ever shoot them they will remain so, but on an unknown number there can be accellerated wear due to a variation in hardness between the two sears. On these crossbows i...

Re: A Word of Warning - Beware

Hi Guys. I can't comment with certainty on the issue with sear wear on Lou's 405, we are now testing triggers to determine exactly what is happening. I can, however, comment that the issue is only of concern if you have a new 405, as this batch of parts is only used in that model. If you have any ot...

The straight goods on Bowtech and Excalibur

Calm down folks, the sky is NOT falling and Excalibur will not be broken down and absorbed into the Bowtech empire. This sale will help both companies to get better at what they do by combining resources and expertise, and as sister companies the total abilities of the two will exceed the sum of the...

Re: Matrix

Hi Guys I've been unable to reply till now but I'd like to take a few minutes to get some "hands-on" info out and hopefully calm some of the mis-information and speculation down. I've been involved in the entire development of the Matrix series and can comment with some certainty regarding it's feat...

Muskox Hunt

I have noticed that there have been some postings on other forums regarding a muskox hunt I participated in a few years ago. Here is my side of the story. For the first time in my life I am faced with the sad and embarrassing reality of being convicted of a game violation. I make no denial of my gui...

Re: Excalibur Building

Calm down!
We are not a retail store so the sign isn't needed, and the city of Kitchener came to us and told us we had to fork over a small fortune for a permit to keep the sign up. We decided that feeding the city was stupid under the circumstances, hence no sign, just the street numbers.

Re: string is too short...

The marks on the crossbows are there mostly for users of flemish style strings, where they have to set the brace height and maintain it at a constant height and they were really a good idea back when we sold the flemish strings with the crossbows. These days we use a dacron string which will stretch...

Generally lefties just turn the crossbow around so the scope is towards you and the crank is on the left to use a C2

Re: Accidental Dry Fire

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but why have an anti- dryfire device on the crossbow to get in the way of uncocking it when dryfire damage is so uncommon? Never sacrifice simplicity and utility for a problem that doesn't exist!

Re: Excalibur Ambassador

Trust me, I appreciate the loyalty that you folks and all of our customers give to us here at Excalibur. Without that loyalty we would never have been able to live our dream, and on top of that we'd all be shooting crappy crossbows (just kidding!). Anyway I see this thing as a two way street, we tre...

Re: Stringing 101...Help!

Make surwe your brace height is OK. It should be about 1" from the front of the deck, and if it isn't just twist it up to make it shorter and the brace height will increase. I always put the flemish strings on with about 2" of brace height when they are new, then they usually lengthen when fired a f...

Re: Broadhead problems

I have no doubt that your problem is simply that your arrows are fletched straight. If you put some offset of helical on your vanes they will shoot 100% better as long as your choice of broadhead is reasonable. This is the #1 reason people get problems with broadhead flight.

Re: About to buy an Aixom... question and I welcome input

It isn't a big difference in light transmission, but the fact is that every bit of glass the light goes through before it hits your eye costs you brightness. Less glass equels more light!

Re: About to buy an Aixom... question and I welcome input

If someone is that unhappy with the clarity of an Axiom scope there are two likely scenarios. Either he didn't bother or know how to focus it (most likely, it's amazing how many people don't know that every scope has to be focused) and he didn't read the instructions or call us for help. The second ...
