Making My Own Stock for My Vortex..

I have seen some people here making their own stocks and thought I would give it a try. I guess you can say I am a wood worker since am a wood shop teacher. I do things a little different than the old style woodworker. I have a complete shop in my basement, but I also have some new technology tools ...

I do not personally know the Crazyfarmer, but I purchased a half dozen off of him for last season. I killed 6 deer last year and 3 this year with his bolts. I shoot a lot of bolts in a year at deer or targets and I do not miss. Be it at 10 yards or 40 yards. I hit my target with extreme accuracy. Th...

Last time I checked, when I am in the tree and look to my left and look to my right, there is nobody to be seen. I am tagged out for the season and my father is 73 and just walked out of the woods trying to get a deer. The passion can be lost in what life throws you, but is it really ever lost?? I d...

This just is not the season I expected.

There is still a few weeks left here in PA, but I only saw 5 deer this season. I got the first doe and finally shot a 7 point 2 days ago. I passed the 7 point on 2 other days, but I was not seeing the deer this season and decided to take him. Last season I lost count at 42 deer and I use the same tr...

Freaky Monday Night hunt.......and kill.

I will try to make this a quick story. I hunt real close to home in a rural area. There are some sweet spots that I like to use that are real close to the roads. Around 6:45 tonight, I had an 8 point walk up to me about 20 yards. He was no where near a trophy and I decided to pass. He walked around ...

The same story here in PA. I got one 2 weeks ago in the early doe season, but the real hunt begins tomorrow. I got my eye on a few boys. They just don't know it yet.......I hope. Best of luck to you, but most of all enjoy the time in the woods and be safe.

Early Season Started with Success

Here in Pa we started our early season yesterday. I was able to take a nice Doe at about 25 yards. This is my second year with my new Vortex and this is my sixth deer that I took with six shots. I have got many deer in my life and the best thing that I ever did was trade in my Horton for the Vortex....

It is all over.............and thanks to the folks here.

Well I left the tree stand last night without that buck that I have been looking for. The PA archery season has finally come to an end (my wife made me say this) To some this may be a disapointment, but for me it was the best archery season of my life. I did not get the big one, but I saw 42 deer th...

Any Good Cooking Ideas For The Deer......

This is my first year out with my New Vortex. ( I was tired of the Horton mishaps) So far I was able to take 4 Doe from several different hunting spots. I kept 3 deer for myself and I always donate the rest to the food bank. They can never get enough deer meat and all I need to do is tell the butche...

Fletching Jig

I shoot the GT carbon bolts and wanted to buy a fletching jig to fix a few bolts. I shot a few deer this season and lost some veins. I have 1.5" and smaller. Could someone suggest a good jig for me. I am not going into mass production, so I dont need anything too fancy.
