I just bought a Lumizone off Mark and the shipping was 18 bucks. I figure it would cost me that in gas to drive somewhere and buy it. I had no problems whatsoever although customs held it for 6 days.

Ray,
If you were to purchase someone a Rangefinder as a gift just don't send it UPS, if you ship it USPS the recipient will still pay our 13% in taxes. If the value is less than 60 bucks then no duty is paid. BTW my birthday was DEC 27th. :D

I just took 2 into the tannery, getting them done hair on and they charge 100 each. I was told it could take up to a year to get them back.

If anything is shipped with UPS from the states, they are a rip-off. I never use UPS anymore. Stick with USPS and you only sometimes get dinged for PST and GST.
