I guess everyone has their own standards for what they will shoot or not shoot. The main thing I fell is that you take pride in what you get and enjoy the thrill of the hunt. it don't get any better than that.

Great choice - I started with my first crossbow a Vortex last year. Added a Boo string and STS to cut down the noise. Very happy with everything and everyone here is very willing to help so just ask away.

As Boo already stated keeping the string just barley touching the pads makes the difference. On my Vortex I also had to cut down the steel legs that these pads slip over in order to accomplish this as there is not enough adjustment as it comes from the manufacturer. I really think Ecalibur could com...

I have shot my Vortex well over a hundred times since adding the STS and have very little wear on the pads. But I have them adjusted where the string just barly touches the pads which I believe makes a big difference in how long the pads will last.

For me hunting has changed a lot since I first started some 30 years ago. I use to think that the point of going was to get something, well over time I've learned that just being out in the woods is enjoyment alone. Tagging a deer is just the bonus. I hunt from the ground and in trees and I pass on ...
