I am still looking for some type of case for my Vortex. For my trip out to Wyoming I was planning to break it down to fit into a double gun case.

Most of guys already pretty much said it all - I would not recommend trying to pull back my Vortex without at least having gloves on. Without the rope cocking devise you will probably not get your string centered either. Yes, it would be nice to use your hands in case you ever forgot the cocker, but...

I have shoot the 3 blade rage with my bow last year and will now be shooting it with my Vortex. I have paper shot them when I first got my Vortex just to make sure they were not opening and had no problems.

I have my pads just barly resting against the string.

I normally start at 20 yards - shoot 3, go to 30 yards - shoot 3, go to 40 yards - shoot 3, occasionally I go out to 50 yards - shoot 3 I only shoot 1 bolt at each different target point so your not hitting any other bolts. Can't get any closer than that - that is what I like about hunting. You never know what might happen and just getting that close is all worth it even if you do not harvest anything.

I used these a lot on my arrows up to this year when I switched to a crossbow. As long as you follow the instructions that come with them they always worked great for me.
