That is what makes people so interesting - our heritage, our upbringing and our personal experiences molds us into what we are.

Waited till I was 52 before I got the chance to go out west hunting. Now I am hooked on it.
My wife looks at it as a vacation for her too - she gets a week of quiet from me she says. I'm sure you all hear the same thing

Mule Deer Hunt

Come Friday I'm off to Wyoming for my second try to get a nice Muley with my Vortex. After shooting almost every night for the last couple of months I feel very comfortable with shooting out to 50 yards (with little wind). Between biking to get in good shape for all the walking at 8300' to 9300' ele...

I know what your talking about - my area went from having a early gun season and intensive harvest area (allowing up to 5 deer taken - only 1 a buck) to just 1 deer total. The deer count in our area have been dropping fast due to the over harvest from this but the DNR waited to long to make the chan...

I have a carrylite decoy I use from time to time - not really the greatest for hauling around. I always try to only have it partially exposed like on the edge of a corn field or brush - seems to keep the deer's attention longer and I added a white flag of my own to create a little movement with some...

When it gets really cold I just use a muff and thin gloves so I can feel everything and not funble around with those heavy insulated gloves. Just a habit I got into from years of bowhunting.

About 50% from tree. I too fell out of a tree when my tree stand strap let go about 6 years ago and have been very cautious since then. I was lucky as all I got from the fall was some scrapes from the tree on the way down and by some luck that I landed on my feet.

I'm sure he will be missed greatly by all of your family but you will always have the found memories - those you never lose.
