Thorlo ski socks. I believe they are polypropolene and they are tall socks. Helps them stay up and not slide down. Sometimes I wear some wicking little short socks that are about ankle high and really thin.

Before I tried uncocking this way - I wondered if it would be doable with even my Exocet. The way I convinced myself it would be ok was to actually connect my cocking aid as if I was going to cock my bow. I then grabbed it with one of the handles with one hand and went through the cocking motion - n...

How old are those boots? They look very similar to model I have that are at least 7 years old - maybe more.

uncocking crossbow....

This is one of the only things that made the trip to the TN Deer and Turkey Expo worth it. I was shown a method to uncock your crossbow using the rope cocking aid. I've searched this site looking for posts about uncocking this way and haven't been able to find it mentioned anywhere - however it migh...

Here's another endorsement of the Leica range finders. I have the 900 LRF scan model and the optics in it are much better than all other models. If you don't go with the Leica - check out the Nikon Monarch 800 series. It is a little smaller and optics come in a close second when I was checking into ...

color of ring on Varizone scope

What color is your ring on the front of your Varizone scope? it looks like in some of the pictures I see posted on the net it is silver. Mine is red. Do they come with different color rings?

The first thing I saw in the post was the nice buck. The second was the loaded crossbow. YIKES! I'm with TYE on this one. The only time I have a bolt loaded is when I'm in my stand or I'm going to take a shot.

Speaking of red dot scopes - that Tacpoint uses a single ring for attachment - hence only a single weaver style slot base is needed. Has anyone found a single weaver style base that will fit the rear peep sight hole pattern so it can be used for this type mount without having to use the Excalibur sc...

I like my 3/8" camo rope. I used to use paracute cord and window blind cord in the past but it is more prone to tangling and also a little harder to get a good gripe on while pulling up my weapon of choice (rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, bow, xbow).

I'm not sure how the Varizone is compared to other optics (scopes and red dots) but I can tell you one thing for a fact - my Leica LRF 900 range finder is quite a bit brighter in the low light conditions of the last part of the day and the that of first light. I've always used a single pin on my Mat...

They are really comfortable (well at least were). I've used mine for 2-3 turkey seasons and 2-3 deer seasons. I only have 2 complaints - what was said above about them being poked and ripped by limbs and the inside of the neoprene in the heel area has worn completely out down to the rubber and I can...

As far as taking the limbsavers off the limbs - yes you can do it without damaging your limbs or the limbsavers (that is unless you crazy glued them on). I simply used my fingernail to lift them up and then once they were lifted enough I pull them off. As far as reusing them - you can if you take of...

I had to shell out the $$ to prove/disprove it to myself too. I thought they would have to do some good since they worked so well on my MQ1. I put the ultra limbsavers on the limbs and I left on for about 6 shots. I removed them due to loss of speed of my Exocet. They did absolutely NOTHING - 0 - zi...

question about hunting from treestand with xbow

When hunting from a treestand (Summit Goliath) - what do you do with your cocked crossbow? Hold it? Hang it on a hook on the tree? Or do you use some type of gun mount brackets on your treestand? If you're using some type of mount - pics would help.

Have you tried to cinch it onto the stand either with 1" nylon straps or bungee cords?
