Excalibur recommends flat nocks. A major reason is if you use a half moon nock and mis align it your string could go under the arrow resulting in a dry fire. We can't be having one of my team mates with a busted bow.

its usually mid 80's here at season opener. My thermacell will be with me until its at least 60. The little black biting gnats kill me.

I would shoot the heaviest arrow I could find put a brass insert in it then find a blade that flys well. Weight is a huge factor in penetration. The speed you lose won't matter.

Well my Vortex went from stock to Having a selfmade removable shooting stick, Rangefinder, STS, Dan Miller quiver bracket, and Boo string. and a foam filled rail.
