When I bought my phoenix I got the gt lazers with the 5 inch vanes. I then bought the easton firebolts which are smaller (3 3/4). I haven't noticed any difference in shooting them but you should check for yourself when shooting.

Welcome to the forum. I myself own a phoenix but I can not legally hunt with one in NYS at the present time. NYS probably has the most restrictive laws on the books, practically have to be paralyzed to get a permit. I know things are changing so i decided to get one to target shoot. If you ever deci...

Re: Rope Cocker

I am still trying to decide which xbow I want/need and am leaning toward the exocet 200 as opposed to the exomax as I am 56 and not as young as I used to be and would like to be able to use it for years to come. Since you say you would like to use it for years to come then I would go with the exoce...

I had to do some modification (shorten) the round studs that the rubber boots are on because my string could not come to full rest. I ended up cutting off about .125" to get it to fit properly. I noticed that my sts on the right side has to be cut as it appears longer then the left sided one. ...

I had never shot an x-box till i shot my phoenix and i could not believe how loud it was compared to a compound. I started wearing ear plugs whenever i shot my x-bow cause I hated the "T-wannggggg". I decided I needed something to quiet it down. I got a STS and a BOO string for my phoenix ...

There is nothing wrong with using the peep. That being said, the majority of us here probably need a scope to see the front peep sight. I never believed it would occur but after 50 yrs old most hunters need a scope(single plane focus) versus 3 plane focus- peep, pin and target. It really sucks gett...

The scope is the main reason I switched from vert box to Xbow, the eyes just are not as good as they used to be. Rich Thats the same reason that i bought an x-bow , i have a hard time seeing my pin sights on my vertical bow but figured a scope on a x-bow would be no problem. i just wish i could use...

I think I see your problem. Could you put a board on the railing w/ a "C" clamp and another under the unsupported end the same height as the rail? That way you could use some sand bags, which you can make in a pinch by doubling up some gallon zip locks and filling them w/ sand. Put that i...

What I can do is raise or lower my head from the cheek rest(jaw rest) and get a different POI. When you try again, pay special attention to your head and where your cheek and/or jaw hits the stock. In other words, pay particular attention to your head alignment to the scope/sights. You said, "...

I do not own a scale but next time I am at the archery shop I will have them weighed. Since I am new at x-bows I wasn't sure if an inch was that big of a deal. I will use the same field points with all my arrows. I have heard people talk on some forums how mechanicals fly just like your field points...

Do different shaped field tips fly differently

Ok this is the story I had my phoenix sighted in with GT lazer w 100 grain field tips. The ones that came in the right stuff package. Any way i bought some easton firebolts with 100 grain tips off e -bay and tried them out tonite. They shot to the exact point of aim till 20 yards but at 25 yards the...

I own a phoenix and I also think its a tack driver. I first had a vari-zone scope on it but changed over to a zeiss z-point( single red dot). I already have 3 robin hoods due to my own foolishness. one with the varizone at 20 yards and 2 with the red dot at 30 yards. I enjoy shooting it very much an...
