Re: Most Sought After '18
Been years since I have been on the forum but w/o a doubt most sought after bow in 2018 will be the old style xcals. You know the ones with 36 inch width and sound loud as hell. I know you are talking about new 2018 bows but those old ones are just plain, simple and deadly. 175lb phoenix/axiom/ibex ...

Re: Matrix 310
I figured xcal would be bringing out a 200lb matrix for my state but I figured it would have been next year. There may be a new M310 in the future for me!

NYS legalizes x-bows
Its been awhile since I have been on this forum as x-bows weren't allowed last couple of years. FYI NYS allowed xbows only during firearms season in 2011 and 2012. Finally they have come to their senses and are allowing xbows during any firearm season for big and small game. They will also be allowe...

Re: Outdoor / Indoor Ranges NY, NJ, Long Isalnd
I see that you live app. 35 miles from Chicago so i am assuming you work in that city(and commute). I see that you want to live in Long Island or in 1 of the 5 boroughs. Based upon my assumptions you are probably going to work in NYC. If that is the case then you need to live in upper westchester co...

Re: NY hunter Alert!!!
I will be emailing my local assemblyman since he sits on the enviromental conservation committee. Another 3-5 yrs before its full inclusion. I anticipate using my crossbow during rifle season this year since it will be legal to hunt with one.

Re: How do I change my Username?
I had a client comment about me hunting Bambi the other week then he asked if I went rabbit hunting  To him that was okay yet to me ... I could shoot Bambi before Thumper. Whenever someone asks me how could I shoot Bambi, I reply that I am not out to shoot Bambi that I am out to shoot Bambi's...

From all the info. that I have gathered from this forum it seems that for every extra 5 gr you lose 1 FPS so for 55 gr it would be app 11 fps.

Re: Limb Covers
Years ago I used limb covers on a bear whitetail bow and noticed that when hunting in the rain there was a difference in the way the bow shot. I assummed it was from the water that the material had soaked up so I quickly removed them and put camo tape on the bow. Remember those old bows probably sho...

Re: Arrow drop difference at 40yd bullseye,Vortex & Ibex
I have never weighed my firebolts but from what I have read here they are around 370 gr with the 100 gr field point attached. The governor doesn't have to sign the crossbow bill for it to become law. If he doesn't sign it within a specific number of days it automatically becomes law. He can veto it ...

Re: Arrow drop difference at 40yd bullseye,Vortex & Ibex
I shoot both the phoenix and the vortex. Both are set up exactly the same boo string w/o whiskers, zeiss single point red dot and firebolts with 100 grain field tips. I have them sighted in dead on at 30 yards. I have found out that at 40 yards the arrows coming out of the vortex are app 7 inches lo...

Re: need more letters, NY crossbows
Previously emailed my local assemblyman and state senator and I just emailed the head of the enviro. comm. for the state senate and assembly. There are a lot of rumors that this bill was defeated or died in committee last week but on friday the 11th my assembly returned my email to let me know that ...

Re: NY crossbows flopping once again????
I didn't think it would pass this year but if this amended bill passes at least its a small step in the right direction. A journey begins with that first step so hopefully this will get the ball rolling. If passed I will be using my excal during rifle season in 6K this hunting season.
