Re: The Way It Goes
My dad was a career Canadian Air Force guy. He joined at 17 just before WWII started, so he was able to get his 'Branch' of choice. From '39 to '45, he flew submarine patrol over the North Atlantic out of Goose Bay Labrador, rain, shine, snow, crashes, incoming fire, or anything in between. By the e...

Re: 50th hunt ideas
My son and I went on the Newfie moose hunt this fall, and it was a blast. I'd go again for sure. And for about $5000 it's a bargain. I drove out with a trailer and my son flew out. Next time I'd fly out and back with the meat, as it's faster and cheaper...the ferry alone was $220 each way! It's got ...

Re: A Kechika River Adventure
What can I say Matt...... I hunted moose in Newfoundland this year, chased deer in the Quebec Laurentians, wandered my own deer woods for meat, and congratulated my son on his 12 point harvest. But your exploits humble me....you are a far better outdoorsman than I am, and I'm happy for that. And you...

So great to hear about your fantastic mentorship Matt. Good on you.
That is one of the cleanest symmetrical head ornaments ever. It'll be so great as a momento of the experience.
Keep up the good work.

What terrible news. I can't imagine what his young family are going through. He was a great guy.

He's in Antrim I believe. Seems to be a solid Excal supporter. Haven't had any dealings with him though.

Re: BOOFEST 100 RESULTS
I saw Colton's fish and was impressed.
I saw Colton shoot the 100 and was impressed.
But what impressed me the most was when "peer pressure" was put on Colton to swipe Tom's fishing reel, and he wouldn't do it. That told me the true stuff he was made of, and his parents too.

Re: BOOFEST!!! ... On my Bucket list for sure!! :)
Gotta say Vic, this was my first Boofest and it did me a lot of good. Hanging around with great folk like them reminded me of how much these friends do for each other, and others. I've often said, if I won a million dollars the first thing I would do is go to Boofest. Didn't win the million, just we...

Great reminders of a fantastic gathering Monica. Thanks for sharing those.
And thanks to you, Tim and Ben for taking me under your wing and showing me the ropes. I enjoyed the 3-D shoot immensely, and fortunately for me, we didn't keep score.
I'll look forward to the next time.

Re: Big Shout Out to the People who Make Boofest Happen!
Got safely back to Ottawa from Boofest. Had to stop in Trenton overnight to recover and sleep. What a hoot! Also I'm a bit hoarse today, I don't usually talk that much, but it's apparent that many of youze are quite used to it, and a good thing too. I sure learned more by listening than by talking. ...
