Thats more like it!!
Hi guys, Well, I listened to everyone's advice on my form etc with the vert, and it is all falling slowly into place now! Even bj is impressed! I have changed a few things around, and now feel much more comfortable. I took bj's advice and came in closer (20 yards..from 38 yards ) and concentrated on...

Doxnut, You suggested shortening the string half an inch, How do I do that? my draw length is at it's shortest for the bow i.e 27inch. But I feel you may be right!
Thanks for the info Hunting 1.

Pics at last!!
Hi guys, Many thanks for all the advice. Hunting 1, can I tie one of those loops on to the string myself? Where should I be gripping the string with the mechanical release?? Can I replace the binding on the string where it is frayed?? Many thanks, Grizzled.

Pics at last!!
Thanks for all the advice guys! It all sounds like sensible stuff. I didn't think I would be able to hold with just the thumb and forefinger, but I've just tried it, and you are right!! I know this sounds daft to you, but what exactly is a sling!!?? I guess it must be something that cradles the bow ...

sore arm!!!
Hi everyone, Thanks for your replies. My arm is much better now, but still black and blue from the elbow to the wrist!! You are so right garyl, arm protection is a must with vert bows! I've now got the protection. I am busy sorting out the home now, so haven't had time for any practice. I need a few...

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies to my first posting from NB. I have been very busy making the new place look like home, but managed a couple of practice seesions with the new vert! I did well after a shakey start, but not up to the standard of you xbow guys yet. On the first day, I weakened on a...

mail from Grizzled in NB
HI GUYS! Just to let you all know that I made it safely to NB, Our furniture, and everything else was held up with the truckers blockade, so we were sleeping on the floor for a few days, and had nothing in the place at all hardly. I managed to get in my first practice with the new vert, and did ok a...

I feel for you my friend. I was devastated when I learned that I couldn't do anything with my xbow in NB. I didn't fancy travelling to a "range" for target shooting...and nothing else! But who knows, maybe they will see the light soon over there. I'm trying to put the disappointment to the...

Santa's return trip!!!
Hi guys, Will be leaving for NB at the weekend, so this will be my last day on here, as the coputer & phone shut down tomorrow. So, I wanted to share this pic of me this morning when my new vert arrived from bj. I haven't unpacked the bow, because bj fitted all the bits and pieces, and sighted i...

I'm not sure what the response of the UN will me, but I hope it will be a positive one. Everyone who can, should put their hands in their pockets and help out, and I will be very upset if my own Homeland doesn't give massive aid in this instance. Those desperate people need all our help and, who kn...
