Hi Maple, Thanks for your reply. As for starting a family, it's a bit late in life for that. I'm 59, and Mary is 57, so i don't think we will have much success there...though it might be fun trying!! We both have grown-up children from previous marriages, so we don't need to worry on that scor...

Good news!!

Hi there! Today I got a mail from my immigration advisor saying that my permanent residence visa had been granted! WHOOOPEEEEEE!!! It has been nearly a year, and a lot of money along the way, but we got there! I took a bit of a gamble buying a home and everything, but I thought I would be ok...and I...

Sad news

Sorry to hear about your son Ronster. I'm glad he was able to spend time shooting and fishing with you. It's hard to find words of comfort at a time like this, but my thoughts are with you. God bless him!

CZ rifles!

Hi guys, Hope you don't mind me asking about guns again, but, as you know, I can't use a crossbow here, so I am getting a couple of rifles to add to my compound bow. I have decided to buy either the Savage model 14/114 American classic, or the Winchester model 70 classic featherweight as my main rif...

what a difference a day makes

Well thanks for the response guys. I do tend to take a lot of pics, and take the camera with me everywhere I go. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but there are a few on here who seem to like stories in pics! I was just amazed at how quickly the weather can change over here. There were tracks e...

What a difference a day makes!

I posted some pics yesterday of Mary and I following some deer tracks in the snow. When I woke up this morning, evrything had changed... it was amazing! There wasn't any signs of snow anywhere, and the temp was very mild. We went back to the Hydro pass where we had seen the tracks, and look how it h...

Tracking!

Went tracking in the snow yesterday...well, actually, we went for a walk down the Hydro paths, and found plenty of tracks! There appeared to be Three sets of tracks, and we followed some for a long way before tiring of it! One thing that puzzled us was a deer track that we followed into some brush, ...

Reply from the Minister!!

Hi Grey Owl! You are right about the influence of the v-bow hunters on the wild-life authorities, and i pointed that out to the minister. I just hope he has the b...s to make a decision, and not be swayed by outside forces. All the evidence is there...it just takes strong leadership!!! Fingers cross...

Reply from the Minister!!

Hi Tom!
You make many good and valid points, and I think I will write again to the minister, and put those points to him. I don't think I will get very far with my protests, but at least I have tried eh?

Reply from the Minister!!

Hi Guys, I wrote to the Minister himself some time ago voicing my dismay at the attitude towards crossbow hunting in NB. I sent him a copy of an excellent article from some web-site, about crossbow hunting, and the prejudice against it shown by certain provinces and states, particularly NB. I also g...

Winter came here last night!

Yeah, I have heard about the winters down here, and I'm trying to prepare myself!! A few of the locals have said that the past couple of years haven't been too bad, but that doesn't mean much to an Englishman!! TYE, I am always taking shots of things! I just have an eye for it! I see somethin...

Winter came here last night!

Winter came to Miramichi last night! I'm not used to seeing snow, so I was up early, and snapping a few shots...I'm a bit of a camera freak! I must say it looks stunning around here at times, and today was one of those times! It was a bit of a chore clearing the drive, but my nearest neighbour helpe...
