distance for vert deer!
Well, it's certainly interesting to hear the differing views about shot distances. I suppose it all comes down to one's own confidence in one's ability, or something like that! I've only just started shooting with a bow, and probably haven't got any right to make judgement on the subject.... but I'm...

distance for vert deer!
Hi Garyl
I thought it would be about the same distance as a crossbow, but wasn't sure. I think the min draw weight here is around 45#
Hey T. Tom, 82# &74#??? I would have to hold it with my feet, and pull back with both hands!!!

distance for vert deer!
I was just wondering what you guys consider to be a good (safe) distance to take shots at deer with a vert bow? I have seen a lot written on here about safe/ethical distances with crossbows, but not with a vert. ( I could have missed it ) Anyway, I am interested to know what is considered a good dis...

Birthday boy!!
Hi Guys! It was my birthday today (Halloween! ) My wife made me a birthday cake, and it was mild enough to sit out on the deck for a party! There was only the two of us, but it was perfect! Nothing to do with bows, or hunting, but thought I'd share it with you. Afterwards we went for a wal...

Hi BJ! Nice to hear from you! You may be surprised, but I understand exactly what you are saying! But I'm begining to think that to appreciate the benefits of the stabilizer, I may need a bit more weight in that region!?...what do you think? If I aren't noticing, or feeling any advantage in using th...

stabilizers
Hi Al, Thanks for your comments. No, I can't say as I do notice much difference except for the weight, but that may be because my stabilizer isn't heavy enough! Then again, I did exceptionally well yesterday without it!? I don't know what to make of it really! I can understand the thinking behind it...

Hi Digger, I think you are probably right about having the stabilizer on rather than not, but I just wondered what the guys with verts thought about them!!? I must say you have a wonderful collection of bows, and all appear to be well looked after! Do you find you need a specific wieght for your sta...

I hope all you crossbow users don't mind me writing posts pertaining to the vert bow! I would much rather be talking about crossbows but, as you know, the crossbow isn't accepted down here, so it has to be the vert for me. Anyway, I was out practicing again today for an hour...two days on the...

Winter is coming!
Was out on the property today, and There was a definite bite in the air! What a transformation from just a few weeks ago. The winds and rain have stripped the trees, and the wooded area is like a swamp! I still managed a bit of practice with the bow, whilst Mary did some burning of old brush wood an...

Evryone was right!
Hi guys, You will remember me showing pics of some of the tracks that we found on the property, and also some scat. Some of you thought it was probably Raccoon, and others thought it was a bear. The first pics I managed to get with the new trail-cam showed the culprit to be a bear, and I thought tha...

Well guys, it was my exams tonight for the Canadian firearms safety course, and the Hunters course. As you probably know, you have to pass these to be able to aquire and own a firearm, and to get a hunters licence. It has been an interesting Two weeks, and I'm proud to say that this Englishman passe...
