Re: Modified 405 riser
I am like Coop. I have a small splinter in the upper left limb. I cut it off and sanded it down. I filled in the void with epoxy. I shot it many times today and am going to try to shoot it until a limb fails. Today my ZS with a fixed Ram Cat Broadhead landed one inch right at 44.5 yards. Using a HHA...

Re: Meat grinders
Don, I have used my #10/12 for about 15 years. Each year I hunted in Missouri we used a #22 to produce 50# of summer sausage. There is no comparison. This past year I bought the Lem #22 Big Bite and the attachments I need for the various sausages I make. I can not keep up with it and do not use the ...

Re: Need help making deer summer sausage.
I have been making venison summer sausage for years. For me it is a pain. (but worth it) This is what I do. Day one: Grind 20# of venison through a 1/4" grinder plate. Grind 5# of Boston Butt through a 1/4" grinder plate. Mix the ground meat by hand. (I mix in a meat lug) Mix up Legg's or ...

2219 and brass inserts
The secret handshake. 20" 2219, 110 grain .300 OD brass insert, (I know it is .005 undersize for a 2219) 4" fletch with a strong right hand helical. Lumenok nock. One inch groups off of a bench @ 50 yards with target points and ST broadheads @ the same POI for each weight (100 and 125) Thi...

Re: trail camera
I have an old Cuddeback that croaked the first time I deployed it. It was repaired and has not missed a lick since. My only complaint is battery life but as I said it is old.I have a 128 MB card in it and usually the battery dies before the card is filled. I have two scoutguards that work great and ...

Re: Game Cameras in Ga
I returned August 11. The card had only 2 pictures of deer. A very small doe and a spotted fawn. What was happening with the bucks and the salt/mineral ended between July 30 and August 11. My camera shut down because the SD card was full July 30. Rats! I really wanted to see the bug guy with split G...

Re: Game Cameras in Ga
I was using two ScoutGuards.
I reformated the cards and put them back out in the same place. If the big boys are still around I will save a few pics on my flash drive.

Game Cameras in Ga
My brother and I put out salt/mineral during turkey season in Ga. Having done so we also put cameras overlooking the area. We returned this past weekend to do some work and pull our flash cards. A 128MB card was filled. Two 2GB cards were filled. All the pictures were of deer. The really facinating ...

Re: parallax I just didnt know
You did a good job. I would have gone about it just as you. I did the same thing years ago to a big game rifle scope. Parallax is usually set at 100 - 150 yards. I made a tool out of a hack saw balde to loosen the lock ring on the objective lense and move the entire objective assembly. I moved it ou...

Re: Gold tip laser 2's or kinetics
Most I have seen have some degree of offset. I make my arrows and do some experimentation with brass inserts, shafts and fletching. The Kinetics were giving me some trouble when I started shooting @ 40 yards with ST 100 and 125 grain. I tried a 5" helical about a year ago and that did not work....

Re: Gold tip laser 2's or kinetics
I have been shooting GT Kinetics. 4" glow vanes with a RT hand Helical, Lumenok and Slick Tricks. @ 5 1/2' the 1oo grain weighs 503 @ 302fps, KE of 101. the 125 grain weighs 530 @ 296 fps, KE of 103. I have not shot them @ 50 yards but @ 40 the arrows will at times bury to the fletching. This i...

Re: Interesting time with Cops
I am a retired FWC officer. When we get a complaint we have to roll. When we get to the scene, the best case scenario is the person we encounter explaines what he is doing. His activity is legal so we close the complaint with time, mileage and the disposition. "No violation!" That is what ...
