Just a quick note on Triple 7, it is 15% more potent then pyrodex so if your muzzleloader states you can use 150 grains of pyrodex or equivalent powder, You should only be using 130 grains of triple 7.

I would have to agree that the powerbelts are quite a hassle free and accurate bullet for my Traditions pursuit pro. I use the 245grain powerbelts with 100grains of triple 7, I am getting a 3 inch group or less at 100 yards. I haven't shot it any further so I don't know what the groups would be like...

I use a corn feed bag (Synthetic burlap) and stuff it full of plastic grocery bags then I squish it down and wrap it with Duct tape. These targets work great with feild points but broadheads sail through it. BTW I use an exomag.

I was watching the eclipse last night and you could have sat in a stand and smacked a deer at 40 yards at 10:00pm. It was so light out. I would never take that chance but the big fella's would be out by that time wouldn't they!!!

Quick question people, I have heard that a coleman lantern when used for tracking a deer at night will will turn the blood flourescent. If so does it matter if the lantern uses propane or campfuel?

That is 160lbs not dressed so probably dressed it was 130-135 I'm guessing. she was probably 4 years old maybe 5. Nice size doe for this area but they do get bigger around here.

I would like to add something to my post above. I have also seen deer hit with a good shot drop like a sack of rocks. There is a chance that they will run far but not always.

Well I dumped a 160lbs doe on Sunday evening with the Exomag, 15 yards out of my tree stand. Complete pass through, entered one lung and split the liver almost in half. I just put the string back on my Dad's vixen and noticed that there was no mark for the proper brace height. My exomag has a mark and I was going to measure it and use that measurment for the vixen. What do you guys think?

I have always washed the deer out with water. I thought that if there was any contamination from the stomach contents, bowels or bladder, that this would be more sanitary. Is there anymore info on the hazards of washing a deer cavity out with water, Could someone please post it? I also keep the hide...
