Crock Pot

I toss a roast into the crockpot with some grated veggies (what the kids don't know won't hurt them) and barley spices etc.. At the end of the day a great barley soup.

Pet Scent

Any body use the products used to break down pet odours. The ones that use bacteria and enzymes. I use Odour-out. It's odourless (to me) and I spray it on my equip, clothes etc.

Boot Protectant

I just posted this as a separate topic so I'm repeating. Mink oil or the sealant you're mentioning, doesn't this add a "stink" to the boot making you more identifiable camo or not?

Still researching boots - protectant = scent problem?

The Irish Setter boots I've narrowed down to (http://www.irishsetterboots.com/shoe-zoom.cfm?style=880) have a requirement to treat periodically with Irish Setter Mink Oil. Wouldn't that stink in the field? Am I being paranoid about scent compromising?

Duh! Should have thought of this in the first place.

3M makes thinsulate so I went to their web site. Here's what I learned: Thinsulate insulation for footwear 200 gram* Thinsulate™ Insulation for Footwear is recommended for cool conditions or for high activity levels where wearer generates/builds a lot of body heat through activity. * Work boots * Hi...

Just looking into buying the same. Label says warantee is for one year. Send back or exchange. You have to use the right sealant though and it varies from boot to boot in their line. I posted earlier about the problems I've had with Rocky boots. I'll never buy boots or anything from the company agai...

Thinsulate weight = what protection.

Anyone know a chart that shows recommended insulation using thinsulate for varied temperatures.

Thanks

Camo Research

I'm interested to learn if there are legitimate studies relating to camo reality. It seems the military must have invested some time and money in research that might be of benefit. At first thought I considered they might be only considering the human eye but on second thought concealment from a hum...

Okay Ontario Hunters - Be Honest - Prepared?

How many have you got everything primed and ready to go for Sunday? Let's see your check lists. What's the most embarassing thing you left behind on opening day? I got a list from somewhere and adjusted it a tad so I can't really take credit for it but it's pretty complete. I saved it in a PDF forma...

Irish Setters

For you guys with the Irish Setters I may have to check out their "great customer service". I bought mine in February and while scouting in the rain last week sure enough they leaked. TC I see you're in SW Ontario too. I spoke to Fodemisi shoes here in London Ontario. They have a reputati...

China

Made in China eh. I didn't know that. As a Candian, I always try to buy Canadian, if I can't then U.S. is fine with me. I also always try to buy from local ma and pa places like the Archer's Nook too but when the the company, as big as Rocky's or as small as the Archers Nook doesn't stand behind the...

Venting: Rocky Boots - I am SO MAD - TWICE!

I purchased my first pair of Rocky boots (model 7396 - Lynx 400 SiQ) on April 6, 2006. I was looking for a spring/fall/summer weight boot good for scouting for deer and turkey and just general hiking in the woods. Just before turkey season I discovered during my first post-rain walk through some wet...
