Chris I've dispatched enough animals in traps to know that the 22 is not a reliable killer on something the size of a coyote unless your shot is perfect! You may be the exception, but I'd guess 95% of shooters couldn't keep 2 shots out of five in a coyotes head at 50 yards when the adrenaline is kic...

shurite I believe you are mistaken.......you don't have to be from Oklahoma or an adjoining state to hunt with a crossbow......you just have to have a disability certification from a physican licensed to practice in Oklahoma or an adjoining state..... How can a person get a crossbow permit and who i...

shurite......in case you missed it.....I was being sarcastic! :D Of course the only reason to increase the speed via limb wedges, spacers, longer rail, updated riser or whatever is to flatten the trajectory and lessen the effects of wind.......I started the thread because I had just bought a new Exo...

I agree with you Gary......a properly made wedge that duplicates the forward rake of the new riser creates the same forces as those on the limbs of the new bow......no difference at all......if the new risers are safe.....then a properly made wedge would also be perfectly safe to use. Same with limb...

I think the advantages prior to the bolt hitting the deer is why people want a faster xbow. Less wind effect and less drop. No one really cares about what happens after the bolt passes through, as long as you can still find it.

WOW.....why didn't I think of that????

I was the one who posted the original question and I never built any spacers for my bow......when I thought about it, it didn't make much sense to build the parts to make the bow faster so that the bolt was buried farther in the ground after passing through the deer! :D

I hear you wabi! The last day I tried to rifle hunt in November, I did so with a handkerchief stuffed up my nose so I wouldn't have to blow it every 30 seconds.......a man has to want to hunt pretty bad to sit in a treestand with a rag stuck up his nose!

Haven't posted here in awhile, but thought some of you might like this story. I managed to slip out of the house yesterday afternoon for a quick bowhunt......I have been fighting an upper respiratory infection and cold for over a month and I finally starting feeling halfway decent this week. You have absolutely no class and continue to embarrass yourself with the little tantrums, name calling and vulgarity that you so freely display.....those are very common tactics of someone who is desparate to win...

I am in no...
