Distance from nocks to vanes?

I got some bolts made up yesterday at the local bow shop. When I came back to get them I noticed that the vanes (2 inch Blazers) were pretty close to the nocks. I guess they are about 3/4 inch away from the nocks. Will this have any effect on the flight of the bolts?

I guess no one sells them without the nock and insert already installed. Do I buy the ones with the inserts already installed? How do I go about removing them without damaging the bolts?

Does anyone know of an online store where I could purchase Raw Gold Tip laser II bolts? I am looking for shafts only. No inserts, nocks, or fletching.

Easton Firebolt Question?

I am trying to sell some Easton Firebolts on ebay. I had a question from a customer. He asked what size they were 2219? I know they are carbon bolts, so I am assuming he wants to know the diameter of the bolts. Does anyone know the diameter of the Easton Firebolts?

One more arrow question

I have one last thing to ask you guys before I order these arrow parts. I emailed GT and the knocks weigh in at 20.2 grains. They also said the brass inserts are 110 grains. I found another store that says they have the 90 grain brass inserts. Total grain with the 110 grain brass insert = 406.2 gr F...

So what FOC do yall recommend? Is it the higher the better? What is the 8-15 range for? With regular aluminum inserts that are 31 grains I am getting a FOC of 14 With the brass inserts I am getting around 19. According to the following site http://www.goldtip.com/calculators/foc.asp I added 10 grain...

thanks for all the replies guys. I see where for hunting purposes you want the FOC to be between 8 and 15. If I used to the brass inserts and also used arrow wraps, do you think my FOC would still be in the hunting range? I think a wrap would only weigh around 10 grains.

Need some arrow suggestions

Its me again with another arrow question. Apparently this stuff is way over my head. I have been reading a lot on this forum and this crossbow stuff is complicated. I expected to just get some factory bolts and they would shoot fine, but it seems you really have to do your homework. So if anybody ha...
