Re: 7mm-08
I should mention the 7mm-08 is not a 7rem-mag and is often fitted with a barrel that prefers 140 and under. Not to say a heavier bullet won't work, but they were designed for siloette shooting with specific grains in mind. Of the top of my head it's goes like this due to speed capabilities. 7x57 =1...

Re: 7mm-08
Just ordered a Savage 7mm-08 for my grandson to use for the upcoming deer season. Will be using it for deer and hogs under 150 yard shots. I prefer heavier bullets myself but was wondering if someone could recommend a good bullet weight to use. I never have used this caliber myself so any feed back...

Re: Ruuut rooo
Proverbs 26:4 comes to mind.............."Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will also be like him" I am just an outsider (don't even own a crossbow) looking in - I see nothing wrong with one man liking the Micro platforms and another liking the Matrix. When I compare Exc...

Re: Ruuut rooo
I always enjoyed the bunji episodes l watched from. The start l hope they don't sway too far from their roots. When they start African hunting ....they will loose me. I assume there is only so much to talk about and they have to keep coming up with new material to keep viewers it's the youtube way....

Re: Soft case for Mag 340
Just looking for a soft case for my mag 340. What would be better: the Octane crypt case or the new Tomb case? Anyone with first hand experience with one or both? TIA I don't have these cases, but the Octane Crypt case is listed as Micro case. the Tomb case is listed as a TwinStrike case. the Tombs...

Re: Hunting Moose with a Crossbow??
Having never fired a bow of any type at a Moose, I was wondering what broadhead and arrow set-up does one need to poke a large gaping hole in a critter of such a large and healthy dimensions? I hear tell that an average weight for a male Canadian Moose is about 1200 pounds. :wtf: Sure puts an Elk t...

Re: Grim Reaper pro series
Just wondering if anyone has tried them? I have been using the spitfires and am fairly confident I had two open in flight last year. I don't want to band them and did some research on the new grim reapers but want to get any feedback you guys might have. I finally drew my 1st elk license in Wyoming...

Re: Buck vs Doe Droppings
If you want to have some fun with your kids or grandkids, take some chocolate covered raisons (you empty the box of raisons in your pocket ) with you when you take them out with you to teach them to learn deer signs, and when they are not looking throw them on the ground, and call them over to you,...

Re: favorite gun manufacturer
What IF you could only HAVE ONE GUN???? In all honesty, that would be an easy choice. My Remington 870 12 gauge . If I want to hunt deer, turkeys, upland birds, & other small game, it would have to be shotgun. Plus, you didn't say we had to pick one barrel! :) I would really miss the rest, howe...

Re: favorite gun manufacturer
Revolvers - Rugers Rifles - I think there as several good companies. If someone stole my Tikka T3, I would replace it with a Tikka T3x. They have excellent barrels, great triggers, & they shoot way beyond my ability. Weatherby Vanguard would be a good choice, too! If my house was on fire & I...
