If you use doe in heat scent to early or late in the season you will spoke the deer. When i rattle i prefer a real pair over artificals but either will work fine and welcome to the sport of crossbow hunting

during deer season i use a summit viper and a few portables but when i turkey hunt i use a ground blind sorry i didn't read the entire question
