Hunting small game

Good day crossbow enthusiasts! I come bearing a question. I would like to hunt grouse, or 'prairie chickens' as they're commonly called. I'd like to use these blunt tips https://www.3riversarchery.com/the-hammer-screw-in-small-game-blunts.html they're sold in 125 grains all the way to 200 grains. My...

Help mounting a scope

Hello all, I'm getting around to setting up my crossbow now. In all the vids and tutorials I've found, they suggest to use a gun vise to mount my scope. I don't have one of these, what other methods can I employ to do this correctly? I have a level & a flat table. I almost had it flat and level ...

Help me create a bolt

What's the heaviest weight configuration I can put on a Zombie Slayer? I'm considering ordering off of this site https://ontarioarcherysupply.ca/products/black-eagle-zombie-slayer-crossbow-bolts My crossbow shoots 18" bolts, and the brass inserts that come with these bolts are weighted at 92 gr...

Re: Ranger E Bike

Ebikes are being used extensively to travel quickly and silently (as possible) over roads and trails to get to hunting stands/locations. The claim is that there is no “feet on the ground” to leave scent. How many times have we seen a deer stop in its tracks as it encountered our own track’s scent? ...

Ranger E Bike

Good day. As someone new to the hunting lifestyle, pls pardon my ignorance for what I'm about to ask. Excalibur, a hunting manufacturer, is giving away a Ranger 'E bike,' what purpose would this be to a hunter? Seems impractical, you can ride around in the bush, potentially scaring your prey away. B...

Crossbow silencing & other accessories

Good day. I have a few questions, so please excuse the condensed format. I have the GRZ2, it shoots a bit slower compared to the other Excalibur models. So I'm considering silencing options, as the bolt will take some time to travel before hitting my target and I do not want to alert my prey, lest i...

Re: Easton FMJ vs BE Zombie Slayer

In your exact scenario, executioner. In fact the arrows that will come with your grz2 will be executioners. Unless it's an old stock bow, but I wouldn't expect that from Cabela's Well actually, they're BE Diablo 18" bolts that came with the crossbow. I bought it fresh in the box. Cabela's DID ...

Re: Easton FMJ vs BE Zombie Slayer

For crossbows the stiffer the arrow the better. For me it's Black Eagle Arrow Zombie Slayers in all my bows. Second would be the executioners followed by Gold Tip Nitro Pros. FMJs are off the list. What's the deal with Easton archery anyway? I saw a video on social media where someone was discussin...

Re: Easton FMJ vs BE Zombie Slayer

In what scenario would I opt to use a Executioner over a Zombie SLayer? In your exact scenario, executioner. In fact the arrows that will come with your grz2 will be executioners. Unless it's an old stock bow, but I wouldn't expect that from Cabela's Well actually, they're BE Diablo 18" bolts ...

Re: Gotta love inflation..

Welcome to the forum, enjoy your new bow! I do have to say though that inflation will cost much more in the end, glad you think you are saving money. Thank you. And I'm not a proponent of inflation, it just happened to work out for me this time, me thinks. That GRZ2 is probably going to be $660-$70...

Gotta love inflation..

Good day all. So I decided to go with the GRZ2, 305FPS. Was on the fence at first, but then seen on the Excalibur website that it's being sold for $599 USD. Over here in Canada, stores were selling it for $549.99 CAD, Cabela's had it for $50 off starting today, $499.99 CAD. It was a no brainer reall...

Most powerful recurve crossbow that can be rope cocked?

Good day. I'm looking for something simple, yet sophisticated. As the title suggests, what is the most powerful and dependable recurve crossbow that doesn't utilize a crank system?

It's about the Bulldog 440

Good day all. I'm looking to purchase a PHENOMENAL recurve crossbow that will last me a lifetime. I would like the Bulldog 440, however it has a few negative reviews regarding the limbs, specified here https://www.cabelas.ca/product/123490/excalibur-bulldog-440-crossbow-package How do the limbs hold...
