Re: What is this? Matrix 401?

I only question the use of a solid chunk of aluminum for his rail. Having never handled one I could only think she'd be a bit of a led sled. I wonder if a smf would be a better choice? (Not that I would personally try) Some things are best left to the pro's and I trust Excal to do the proper testin...

Re: What is this? Matrix 401?

Just wanted to put this out there....if you look at the gun world there are many custom shops that are using actions from one manufacture and custom barrels or stocks to make in their mind the perfect firearm. This is really no different...they are buying the bows and swaping in their own custom par...

Re: Found my first Shed of the year

Why do you think that is from that deer? The fall that i was getting him on the camera I noticed that his right rear outside C in his hoof was deformed and is clearly visable on his tracks in dirt. He seems to follow one certain trail when transitioning thru my property that no other deer follow. L...

Found my first Shed of the year

Found my first shed of the season here in Southern Ontario in about the strangest way ever! I am having my 14 acres logged right now and was back in the bush this afternoon (its mostly hard maple with some cedars but is mainly just a transition/coridor bush). Anyway, at 4PM this afternoon I thought ...

Re: Ontario turkey hunters

Yeah, Traded moose to Michigan and I read in one of my magazines that Michigan is only now going to have a moose hunting season. All those years and it took this long? Anyone know if that is correct or not? Didn't take nearly that long to get the Elk hunt going up here.

Re: I just made my first website....Wilmot Rod and Gun

Great club! Two of my uncles are members (Steve and Howie) and my dad goes out and plays darts every week with them. If I lived closer I would deffinatly join the club but its almost an hour drive from my place in Arthur :-( Good to see you getting the archery up and going! They are always wanting m...

Re: Custom Wooden Crossbow Stocks

Walnut is by the the nicest, most forgiving, easiest to work with wood for gun stocks out there. Cuts and shapes like butter (only thing nicer is cherry!) isn't prone to cracking and checking, is very stable (doesn't shrink and exand as much as other north american hardwoods) and comes with some of ...

Re: o/t looking for info on muzzleloaders

I picked up a TC Pro-Hunder XT this year (formerly the Endeavor) and am shooting 300gr Hornady's with 100 grains of Blackhord 209... I only got around to sighting it in this week. My first few shots where great doing a 25yard sight it but when I moved back to 100 yards something funny started or at ...

Re: OT - Slug Barrels

if you want a slug gun, get one.. dont sub a shotgun for a slug gun:-P Kidding guys;) I have a H&R single shot ultra slug gun. I also only shoot 20g slug guns since its just like shooting 150grains of blackpowder and a 260grain sabot. The 12g slugs hit like a train, but they drop off fast! The ...

Re: OT - Slug Barrels

I have been using my Rem 870 (Deer/turkey combo) now since 2006 and have not looked back since. I practice quite a bit in the off season (ground hogs and target) and put aprox 5 boxes thru in the off season. Come deer season I know its bang on and good to go. When I first got it I picked up a box of...

Re: Anyone for a custom made stock.

This winter I would like to make one or two custom stocks for someone. This would be a good pastime for me and hopefully a great looking stock for you. There is a site website; (http://www.rifle-stocks.com/laminated_blanks.htm) that has rough stocks to puchase. check it out. You supply the stock an...
