Just remember the three things that spoil meat are heat. dirt, and moisture. I would go ahead and tag the animal and check it in no matter what I end up doing with the meat.

I also have the same setup you have but my Vortex is a 2007. I use the Firebolt Arrows. I have had good performance with the small wasp on Whitetail and Turkey. I also purchased the mechanical that Excalibur puts out and they perform well for me. I don't know enough about the Boo String to make a co...

I too find that my Vortex is a little cumbersome. I was going to hunt all spring turkey season with it and that lasted just four hunting trips. I then grabbed the Rem SP 20ga and finished the season. It was hard to pack it up and down the hills and hollers of Ky. I do love to hunt with it thought an...

I use the T-Form Padded case. I am like a lot of you and hunt close to the house so I just put the bow on my back and go but I also use my vortex in my job so I travel with it and need a little bit more protection.

Welcome. I use the 100 gr. Wasp and they fly as good as I can shoot em. I have also purchased the exact mechanical but have not shot them yet.

Welcome. And that s one of the reasons I chose an Excalibur was the simplicity of the limbs and overall design and also their awesome trigger.

The closer the better. I too am a 40 yard and under person and prefer 30 and under. Got a fall turkey last year at 7 yards. It was a full alert looking at me and my Vortex. Didn't notice any string jump though. LOL   The bird only ran 5 yards. I like em close.
