Hi! You might want to check out the arrow performance charts on Excalibur's web site: http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/arrow.html The draw weight isn't ll that important, in my opinion - the arrow performance is. For example, I can't count how many times I've seen the sage advice that (at last for d...

Thanks again gang! Jim, only the possibility of some larger game in the future pushed me to the Phoenix over the highly regarded Vixen. Big Dog, sorry to hear you've suffered the same fate as me, but I am heartened to know that you're able to use the string cocker on the Phoenix as well. Golden Eagl...

Thanks
Thanks for the great advice! Yes, I didn't mean to infer I would be taking long shots. I've been a vertical bowhunter for a few years and a stroke has made it, um, a wee bit diffucult for the near future to shoot a vertical bow well enough to hunt. :( Close shots ARE definitely preferred - I probabl...

Still Deciding between Phoenixand Exocet
Folks, I'm having a dickens of a time trying to decide between these two bows... The Exocet shoots faster, which sounds nice from both a trajectory and "string jump possibility" standpoint, but... it's tougher to cock. Not having the luxury of testing these two sde by side, I have a favor ...

Again, Thanks! I'm leaning more any more towards the Excal Exocet...this forum has played a part so far too. Seems that the Exocet w/ all the trimmings is a faster, lighter bow than the TenPoint Titan I'm also considering. Nevermind the fact that I think it's less expensive (now and in the long run)...

favorite scope for hunting & is "righ stuff" w
Hi, Another newbie set of questions here... What's everyone's favorite scope for their crossbow? Also, is the Righ Stuff package with scope (~$275) a good thing, or should I piece things together? One data point for the latter question - I'd be getting a crankaroo assist, so the string cocker would ...

All, Thanks! You folks are great. Since posting my original questions, I've talked to another shop...one with whom I've dealt extensively in the past and discovered a few tidbits of info. 1) They are sold out of Ten Point bows 2) They sell MORE Excalbur Xbows than TenPoint or any other brand And...p...
