Re: Equinox Bolts

At 40 yds they shoot the slick tricks the same as field points. I do not practice at 50 yds. I would not shoot at a deer much over 40. I talked with a fella at the Bow Shop in Waterloo and he said that the firebolts are too light. He said to either add brass inserts or a heavier bolt. I have purchas...

Re: Equinox Bolts

I spoke will a couple of people and they recommended that I install heavier inserts to add weight to the bolt or go with an alumium bolt or heavier broadheads. I purchased 2219 Al. bolts. I used them with the Exomag I had and had no issues. The only issue with them was how far they would go out the ...

My buddy has some 2219's that I'm going to try to see if it makes a difference. Other then the above, I'm sure want else I can do....

Re: Equinox Bolts

The problem i've been having is that the bolt is not penetrating. First I used the firebolt with a Rage 3 blade 100 gr and did not get a pass through twice at 20 yds. Lost one, got one. Last night, Firebolt with a 125gr Slick Trick at 30 yds and the bolt only went in about 6 inches. I didn't hit sho...

Re: Nicknames

My nickname is also my last name "Boomer". It helps to have a built in nickname. People will ask me how I got my nickname Boomer, when I tell them it's my last name I usually have to show them my driver's licence.

Re: who uses slick tricks?

My 125 gr magnums are shooting the same as the field points. You won't be disappointed. Hopefully the blood trail is as good as they shoot.
