re stomach spilled ---

Just like to point out snow also works well for soaking up juices and wiping out cavity.. if there is any on ground at the time. I usually use snow whether the stomach has been ruptured or not, it also speeds up the cooling process.

Safe and happy hunting.

re broadhead harvest stats ---

Hi Sumner: Used a 145 grain 4 blade 1 1/8 in. Muzzy on GT-2 22 inch in Equinox x bow on a midsized muley buck. Steep quartering away ground level 20 yard shot, arrow exited just behind shoulder. Deer ran off about 60-70 yards, totally dead on my walking up. Not much of blood trail on browned out gra...

re sharpness

I have to speak up and agree with DMc on the sharpness.

I use a safety razor and yes it takes a lot more time for a nick on the face to clot than a scratch from thorn or the pet cat play fighting etc.

Also favor the bigger cut idea. Hope to try the mechanical out this fall yet on a deer. :)

crossbow virgin ----

Appears lots of us late bloomers here, hunting with a crossbow. Likewise have yet to make my first xbow kill, but have lots of vertical bow kills as well as muzzle loader, black powder cartridge rifle, and regular rifle. :D :D Just got acquainted yesterday with an orchardist looking for some...

re shim

curmudgeon I think one of the reasons I originally looked at doing the shim thing is the hopefully reduced wear to the serving with less pressure on the rail. And the STS type of dampening system seems to easily take care of any new possible vibration from less rail pressure. Maybe I don't get a lot...

re camcorder ---

GP -- the camcorder is a little heavy, but is somewhat counterbalanced by the quiver and arrows on the other side. I will probably only have cam attached when sitting in a treestand.

re shim---

Thanks for the heads up Bill --- I kinda thought I was on my own on this. I just did not like the hard contact my string serving had against the rail.

Otherwise I certainly love the bow. It's amazingly accurate, and powerful.

re cam on xbow---

Surprised no one is replying. With all the videos posted on you tube, must be some Excals out there with this set up. I will post pic later. The bracket was a simple piece of aluminum bent into S curve. It's a little springy to hopefully take up some vibration.

re shim---

Stosh --- I have yet to set up a crony and see exactly what my speed is. I do have a friend who also bought a new Equinox and it does seem to target shoot slightly flatter than his unmodified xbow, same string, arrows etc. After the hunting season hope to get around to testing. If the lumizone scope...

camorder on crossbow ....

Hi everyone --- Anyone care to share experience with mounting camcorder on their crossbow? Just purchased a Sony Handycam mini DV and made a simple bracket, bolted on the rizor. Guy at the store says this type camera is about the least vibration sensitive. Other than the obvious try to keep dry, any...
