Broadhead Suggestions for Africa

I am heading to South Africa in May for the first time and taking my older Exocet. We will be hunting plains game and I have built a 600-grain carbon arrow for this trip. Looking for broadhead suggestions. I may have the opportunity to hunt bull giraffe as well as kudu, gemsbuck, impala and warthog....

I had a Boo string and STS on a new Vortex and thought it made a whole lot of difference. If you do nothing else, I highly recommend the string upgrade and get in touch with Boo!

Suggestions for Africa

I am heading to South Africa in May for the first time and going with my Vortex. The plan is to hunt plains game and I want to be prepared for everything up to giraffe. I would like your suggestions for arrow setup (weight, etc.) and any suggestions if you have been.

Thanks!

It Comes Down to the Stock

In my opinion, the speed and power of the Phoenix is plenty for most North American game. I recommend putting a Boo string and STS system on either one. I have owned both and prefer the thumbhole stock in the Vortex.

FOR SALE: Phoenix with Vari Zone Scope * SALE CANCELLED *

I just bought a Vortex and absolutely love the speed and thumbhole stock; therefore, I need some room in the basement. Up for sale is a Phoenix and Vari Zone scope that I got from "double lung". It is in great shape and this is a killer deal. Asking $450 shipped to the lower 48 states. If ...

TRADE: Hungarian Horsebow for Vixen?

I have an almost brand new Asymmetrical Hun "horsebow" made in Hungary by Istvan Toth. 55# at 28 inch draw. Covered in leather and faux snakeskin, shoots like a dream. Bow has only been in this country about two months, condition is like new. Looking to trade for Vixen or other model, new ...

Africa with Crossbow

I just booked my first trip for October 2007 and it is with Motsomi Safaris. Pieter has been very accomodating so far and I have spoken with almost all the people on his reference list. If you go to the website (www.motsomi.com) you will see several pictures of a woman and her crossbow kills. The wa...

Do you unstring the limbs when travelling? In the instruction manual it mentions doing so if the bow is going to be in hot climate. I do not expect that to be the case in Texas come March. Great suggestion!
