I have a 60km roundtrip to where I hunt and back. not a terrible strain on the finances but it adds up if you go out every day. I will probably be a little more selective on the days I go out. if the wind is howlin or it is raining hard I will probably save the fuel and wait for a day that is more l...

It is $1.23 a litre here. they are predicting that it will go to $1.50 a litre this summer. I will be using my mountain bike and my little honda on/off this summer, the truck will be parked until hunting season. I am sure it will affect the price of everything.

I use pyrodex select because of availability but I would prefer to use regular black powder. I think it is a superior powder to the substitutes but because of its explosive clasification many shops don't want to deal with it. most testing I have read show much more consistant velocities over a chron...

Oh ya can't wait for the snow to finally decide to go away. Riding motorcycles is the only thing I have been doing longer than hunting. I always believed hunting was designed for the biker, fall comes and you get all fired up about hunting and before you know it there is snow on the ground . By the ...

We are losing manufacturing jobs in Canada at the rate of 200 a day. Most Canadian workers support Tim Hortons by buying their coffee every day. Yet Tim Hortons supports Toyota, which I think is a kick in the face. I think they should offer a vehicle built by the people who support them. Congrats o...

Re: Planning on making a steam piston engine... Any tips?

I got a welder for Christmas, and I want to put it to good use. I'm a HUGE fan of machines that transfer energy from one form to another. My current project, I am creating a bicycle driven air compressor. I have an AC compressor from an old car, which I am connecting to the rear tire of my bicycle ...

shooting your chronograph is an eventuality with the shoot over types. I haven't done it to mine yet but I figure the day is coming. Shooting Chrony used to offer a rebuild service for this years ago I don't know if they still do if I remember correctly it was about $60 to get one rebuilt.

I enjoyed the coffee story. more people need to read it. I am sure many people laugh at my small house and my 22 year old truck. but like most things in my life they are both paid for. About 3 months ago I lost my job, many my freinds and family were all in a panic for me , I wasn't , neither was my...

Yup you just have to accept the fact that x-bows work completely different than firearms . I am new to the archery world and have been a firearm enthusiast for many years. I also at first tried to compare x-bows and vertical bows to firearms. I finnally just learned to look at archery as archery and...

this might be a bit of piece of mind

I figured this might bring some piece of mind to some of us. It does a bunch of things ,but the one for us who spend a bunch of time in the bush ,is that it will send your long and lat to 10 contacts if you were to get lost or get hurt in the bush. As I get older Idea's like this look better all the...

Some neat idea's here. I am getting even more idea's how to personalize my Exomax. I don't see a lot of these idea's making it into production but you never know. Making changes in a production facility like Excalibur is not going to be easy . That is simply the nature of a productioin facility. I a...
