Good luck with the shoulder, my brother just had his done, it is going to take some time but it should be better than normal when you are done. As for your dad, these things happen, at our camp it is "if its brown its down" and nobody hunted with bows, so say we should not use dogs and hun...

Cooking Ducks and Geese

How do you guys cook your ducks and geese?
I did a few stir-frys last year with the breast meat of the geese and tried a stew with the legs but had bad results.
They are quite tough, what methods do you guys use to get a very tasty tender bird in the end?

Good news, keep an eye on the dog though, keep it close. We had one "show up" at the end of the second week of hunting, supposedly had spent the week in the bush but was fatter than we ever had her. Makes you wonder.

Hope somebody finds him, had that happen in the past, makes you sick thinking they are all alone in the bush.

Get some carbon bolt with really colourful fletching. Use blunt tips or judo small game points and go wild, I used to go out with the crissbow all the time.

If you want to take birds there are heads made for them, but you will need an arrow that is longer to clear the stirrup.

Nice animals guys, I wish I had a digital copy of my favourite bow kill. Something a little smaller. When I was 15 at camp on a sunday I learned the joy of small game hunting with a bow, took a snowshoe hare and a ruffed grouse with my old crissbow. That thing was just as accurate as my excalibur bu...

Dad had a hawthorne thorn in his hand when rabbit hunting. A part of it got into his hand too far to dig out, his hand swelled up bad, there were a couple weeks of wondering that would happen to him. It took about a month to heal up so he could hold his gun again. The last day of rabbit season we he...

I hear you, I had a pair of those green CT boots. Dad used his set for 15 years, and still has them as his backups. My boots made it less than 2 seasons, wore them on the quad and after a nice rough ride melted them on the side of the block, oh well buy another pair. I moved on to Rocky, no idea abo...
