I have been wanting to try some of these but I can't find any around here. Where can I get some?

Farragut, Tenn(but I'm not a native southerner, I've only been living here for 26 years). My heart's in Michigan's Upper Peninsula!

I've been using a Ten Point Proview 3X on my phoenix. I like it alot. It has three crosshairs and also three lighted dots in either red or green where the crosshairs intersect with the vertical hair. It's proving to be a very accurate scope for my set-up.

Another thumbs up for the Phoenix. Like Wabi, I would have purchased the Vixen, as it more than easily would have sufficed for my needs, but I also, didn't care for the brown color. I don't regret buying the Phoenix though, it's been a great bow. I wish the Vixen came in camo, I probably would have ...

Another vote for the EZ-Fletch 4 degree offset. I have been using the same arrows (2216's) with 4" Duravanes, they fly great.

Thanks again guys, but using the point as a type of "heat exchanger" is the first thing I tried, it didn't work. I dunno, maybe my pal "welded" em in there, I'll have to ask him when he comes back off of vacation what he used or if he bought them already inserted from the store. ...

Thanks all. Guess I'll get some wraps and try that idea out. I tried the hairdryer on the nocks-no go, I'll have to cut them down. These seem like they are going to be a whole lot more trouble than aluminum arrows, not sure that it's worth the trouble for my needs.

Fletching gold tip laser problem...

I've become quite satisfied with my 2216 Aluminum bolts, so this weekend I grabed a few of the carbon Gold Tips to play around with. I'm using Duravanes; 4" and I'm having trouble with vane adhesion. I'm using an Arizona EZ-Fletch; 4 degree offsett, Platinum Fletch-tite. I rub the shafts with s...

I have the duravanes and will try them. I will probably use the 2216's exclusively, I get great flight and accuracy and it just seems simpler knowing I have plenty of weight. I am sure I'm sacrificing some speed but I don't have a chrono. The only thing I wish is that I could get some good nocks for...

Glc, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I have a question for Comfybear. What kind of fletching are you using on the Easton 2216's? I seem to get more lively flight with 4" feathers and have started to use the 2216's almost exclusively, as opposed to the Gold Tips and was wondering if anyon...

backpacking with crossbow

I was just up hiking in the Smokies yesterday and thought about this while hiking. I couldn't imagine trying to pack a crossbow strung unless the trail was groomed. Off-trail hiking I think would be impossible around here. I would probably even take the riser off the stock. Too, much dense undercove...

I have been playing around with the 4" duravanes and 4"R/W parabolic feathers. I had some problems with the feathers, but I got that worked out(hardware problem). I have been messing with 2216's cut down to 20", 100gr. nibs. I got good flight and fairly consistent accuracy, However, w...

I have used the bitz in the past. I use the Arizona EZ fletcher exclusively now. I have had good success with it for both bolts and arrows.

Another vote for Duravanes; 4". I have been experimenting with feathers and actually prefer them, but I guess for my Phoenix it seems to prefer arrows fletched with the duravanes. I guess crossbows are like anything else; each has its own idiosyncracies. I can't seem to get good flight with the...
