Deer Processing
How many folks process their own deer and how many take them to a butcher?.... Also, How much does it cost to have a deer processed in your area?..... I've been butchering my own for as long as I can remember, but I was considering having one done up by a local processor... But $65 to cut up a deer ...

Hey JayHawk, Welcome aboard... I'm not a fellow Jayhawker but I really like it there.....I have to ask, how difficult was it to get the x-bow permit?... I'd like to apply for one.... I have Special Permits from several states now and have been thinking about those hugh bucks in Kansas ever since las...

In general most good bucks will try to scent an area before travelling through it... That's often why they aren't seen on the main trail... This isn't only for security but for sex too.... They can smell a hot doe from a long way off so walking down wind of a trail makes it easier for him to see who...

I like rainy and/or windy weather to set up or move a stand.. The bad weather will usually limit the deer movement and the rain will cover your scent... Just be aware that the stand and trees are going to be wet so they may be slippery... Please make sure that every step you take when setting up a w...

Aimpoint on an X-bow
I checked out the Thread on this topic so I know this as been talked about a little, but I'm wondering how has it worked out for those that are using them. I'm considering putting a Aimpoint 9000L on my Exomax because it's relative flat trajectory and was wondering what yardage to zeroed in on....I ...

I bought one of them and thought that it was going to be the answer to carrying my Exomax but when I hooked it up and put it on, the x-bow rocked back and forth with each step and dug into the the center of my back. It didn't work out as well as I wanted it to....It may work better with heavy clothi...

BUMMER !!!....Thumbs are important!!....Especially on the dominant hand....I'm right handed and not very talented with my left, when my right hand was in a cast I found out just how difficult everyday things can be... Everything from tying shoelaces to scratching hard to reach spots to more fundamen...

In all honesty I haven't had any trouble with the one on my Ten-Point... As long as you fully cock it... And even when I don't it still holds onto the string and (of course) prevents dry firing... Seems to me that it's really something worth having, especially if it's going to prevent a bad thing fr...

Question about Dry Fire
Seems to be the bane of everyone shooting crossbows.... I'm included in that group. It's happened to me a couple of times. Fortunately nothing broke.... Excal makes some very tuff limbs..... But in all honesty when it happens to my friend with his Ten-Point the dry fire saftey catches it every time....

I'm using the Block too....It's expensive, but it does stop both field and broadheads really well.... Just make sure you get the one designed for crossbows ... It's more dense than the regular Block target...However, eventually it will wear out at the dots, so rotate your aim at the targets and put ...

I'll second those thoughts... He's the best I've dealt with.... OBTW- here's an FYI.... I shot my new Lumi-Zone Scope at the range on Friday and some time late into the shooting session I noticed that the reticle broke loose and was listing 4 deg to the starboard from verticle, so I called up Dan on...

Here in the Land of the Sopranos (New Jersey) the season also opens on Sept 8th and I'll be hunting a property that I haven't bowhunted since 1982.... It'll be too hot, too buggy and Dotty Does are the only game but I'm lookin' forward to it.... Also even though I don't hunt them, I noticed that ope...
