There is a video call "Basics of Bowfishing" (I bought my copy on Ebay) where they go into the various setups in some detail. The line is tied to the safety slide which is free to move up and down the arrow from the point to the safety slide stop about 2" from the back end of the arro...

If you look at the picture above you can see the line from the AMS Retriever tied to the safety slide next to the glove. When the arrow is loaded onto the...

Evan, My brother-n-law and I just spent a couple of days shore fishing in the Gulf. I saw several stingrays and flounder that just sat there as we cruised by them. I sure would have like to have had a fishing set-up for my crossbow. Which set-up would you use for the Gulf fishing? What is too deep ...

Here are pics of some of my crossbow bowfishing arrows. The first pic shows the entire arrows. I use 22/64 safety slides on all my arrows. http://users.ameritech.net/eperson/DSCN02130001.JPG The second pic shows a closeup of the heads. From left to right: 1. A 3-barb Innerloc grappler point. 2. A Ca...

My Vixen Lite is set up for bowfishing, have had great luck with it. Three of these fish a friend shot with his recurve, one I shot with my Oneida, the other 9 fish I shot with the Vixen. It has an AMS Retriever reel mounted on it. I got the plans for the bracket from Mark at Muzzy. http://users.ame...

You can, I have a crankaroo that I use with my Maxpoint stock. However, if you have problems mounting it you will have to drill out the hole for the securing screw a bit. Contact Bill T, he told me what size drill bit to use but it was a while ago and I have since forgotten.

Re: crossbow-fishing setup

does anyone know the best crossbow-fishing setup ,how much is it and the comp's that make them :?: The best crossbow fishing setup starts with any Excalibur crossbow. I use both a Vixen and an Exocet. Add an AMS Retriever bowfishing reel, fasten it to the quiver mounting holes at the bottom of the ...

Farmer, it looks to me like there should be about twice that much of the fiberglass shaft protruding from the aluminum shaft. See the small hole near the back of the point at the top (in the last picture)? That hole is where you can drill a hole through the fiberglass shaft to insert a safety wire t...
