Re: handgun hunting
bstout you are right as the magnification goes up field of view goes down with 4x at 20-30yds it is hard to pick a spot on a deer all you see is hair at those close ranges and for my 44 I don't want a variable I think a fixed 2x or 2.5 would do very well

Re: handgun hunting
I have taken 1 deer and 1 wild boar with the 270gr gold dots and I load them myself and my encore 44 barrel has a leupold fixed 4 pwr scope on it but at close ranges 20-30yds its just a little much so I am thinking of going to a 2pwr. Now don't get me wrong the gold dots perform good, and I have use...

I could be wrong but if I were to string my exocet it would only be getting the 200lb force on the string only if the bow is cocked and I don't want to leave it cocked for long periods of time and at this point I am just trying to get some pre season stuff ready and right now I just don't have a lot...

string pre stretching
For those of you that remember my last attempt at pre stretching a string, it didn't go so well. ha ha ha but after another attempt with another string I have found that as long as I make the weights immobile all is well so after hanging 90lbs for 3 days I got one half inch of stretch on my string. ...
