No problem - sorry for the confusion.

Thought the moose story was a good one though - would never have thought a moose would go 300 yards after a heart shot.

Take care.

Keep thinking of changing to the veri or the lumi - just getting scared with some of the negative experiences people have had. I love my BSA on my .222. It handled high powered springers fine, high powered bulk filled air rifles and now my .222. I would not worry about the Excalibur doing any damage...

Wow thanks. I was going to get a judo point, but not now. From what it says you not allowed to have a .410 or .22 in your car to hunt squirrels with between a morning and afternoon hunts? Chad I think that is misreading the regulation. When you are driving to a deer spot you are not hunting. It is ...

Hot water, steam or a heat gun. Thought this recommendation was a little daffy - but I was going to make some tea so thought - hey what do I have to lose. Took two bolts from my "need to be refletched pile" and put them in a tall cup of hot water. A couple of rubs and presto - almost as n...

From what a CO told me it is to prevent someone from taking a 410 into the field with a slug in his pocket - he sees someone coming he tosses the slug into the bush and says the gun is for small game. With a lot of the high powered air guns out there capable of taking down large game it is too hard ...

I wear mesh - something about sitting in a cloud of burning pesticide bothers me. I have spent over 15 years in the pest prevention business (like pest control but more professional) and have seen my fair share of chemicals. I wear personal protective equipment at work - I would not sit in a cloud o...

I know its legal, gust looking for advice on makes and models. In Ontario it is not legal : Big game, including deer, may only be hunted with a firearm (this includes bows). When hunting deer you may use or carry (on your person, in a vehicle or boat) only a firearm of the type permitted for huntin...

Good advise by all. I have found that if you indeed spooked him good (if he ran through the bush and made a lot of noise you likely did) then I would back out for a week or two. If you simply bump him (I popped one out of his bed on Saturday - he knew he didn't like something - I watched him walk aw...

I have paid $65 - 145. The latter was including sausage and pepperettes. I pay a little more for the one butcher but he does a great job - removes the hair, bone shavings and packages them really good. Also uses good pork (not certified organic but close). I would rather pay a little more and get it...

It was getting near 7 and I was thinking about heading out when I heard a deer about 40 yards away. Hit the grunt tube and this little guy came running. He walked down wind at less then 10 yards but did not offer a shot. He came around front with very little legal shooting time left. Pulled the trig...

Welcome to the forum. I think you'll find the Slicks perform well on game, too. http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp237/fishnbugdude/web2.jpg Deer number two - same broad head - 40 yard recovery. An amazing blood trail (did get both lungs and the heart - placement helps). Thanks again guys. PS the...

Took one by accident tonight. Had the buck broad side - he saw me just as I pulled the trigger and turned to face me. It entered right beside his leg, and came out clean. Took out both lungs and the heart. I really would not want to try that shot again. I believe it was more then lucky - the big man...

Middleton Scope

Just saw a Middleton Scope in Simcoe today. Just like the LumiZone but with a red or green Reticule. Larger field of view and a much better price. They had a VeriZone so I checked the optics side by each. I think the glass inside is better the Excalibur is better then the Middleton - seemed brighter...

These retailers are literally stuck with them. They cannot send them back or get any warranty on them. The worst part is that no one wants to buy them! Saw them in a dealer for the first time today - Simcoe. Was told he liked them better then Excalibur. Also read: "There will always be bad rev...
