Well, we have a pretty fair stack of antlers, but somehow I just don't seem to get those 200 inch bucks! What is sad though is last year was a repeat of so many. We used to have good hunting here but now we are almost surrounded by Club Shootem. If it is brown it is down mentality. And Lord help tha...

Reading some of the posts above it seems to me that some think this is only for the Michigan gun season, which it is not. Michigan's gun season is from November 15-30. True, you can hunt with crossbows during the gun season and you could even before this bill passed. However, you have to abide by th...

Without a test, you can almost surely bet the ph is low and it needs lime. If you can't get a test, try putting it on at the rate of 2 tons per acre. When you spread lime it is a very good idea to cover both the mouth and eyes. This stuff is pretty dusty. Spread it when the wind is not blowing or on...

Saginaw County in Michigan. 35 miles from Saginaw; 50 miles from Lansing and 45 miles to Flint. We are 11 miles from the town where we get our mail. Most land around here is farm but we live on the edge of farm/wild, mostly wooded land. Live on a dead end road (and have a long driveway in the woods)...

Tell your state officials to have a look at the impact crossbows have in Ontario. None of the hysterical lies that anti's preach are a fact of life and we have had crossbow hunting for years. All it does is allow more people to hunt more and stimulate the economy with increased license, equipment a...

Crossbows in Michigan
Some folks have asked to keep posted on any activity in MI concerning crossbows. Looks like they just keep passing the buck. So, basically nothing is being done except talking once in a while and a useless poll. From MUCC's website: The crossbow issue is not dead yet, however it appears Representati...

I don't worry too much about trying to quiet the bow. The reason is I grew up with recurve bows and we fought to quiet those down! Now think about how quiet those can be. Do you think we could approach that with a crossbow? Another point. Just think about how little noise will put a deer to flight. ...

Welcome from another Michigan guy. I heard the same crap when I bought my Excalibur bow and still hear it. Nonsense! Excalibur makes a top quality product that can stand with or above all of the them. Good luck on that permit. I finally got mine just this year else I would not have been able to hunt.

One of my first eye opening experiences came when we were fixing fences one day. We finished one section so walked the next one south to north to check the fence to see if it needed mending. All was well so we turned around to head back. After about 50 yards, suddenly a nice buck jumped up and ran o...
