Re: Today's 3D shoot
Wish I could have been there as well.......sure was a hot one, eh? Were the bugs bad too?
Haven't shot 3-D in a couple of years and really wanted to see my Equinox sing!

Re: range finder angle compensation
The arrow is not travelling 20 yards but 20.4 yards (not a huge difference I'll agree). Gravity is still pulling on the arrow. I'm no scientist, but the effects are likely the same as if it was dropped straight from the stand at 9.8 mp^2.

Re: range finder angle compensation
This is a post from another forum that I had done. You have to know the true distance from you to the target and use that yardage as your aiming point. No higher or lower required. Remember the Pythagorean Theorem? http://www.mathguide.com/lessons/pic-pythagorasT.gif Modifying that formula, C, the d...

Re: range finder angle compensation
A rangefinder should measure the distance of your shot without regard to how high you are.

Re: 3D Shoot in Elmira July 4th
The joys of having kids!
Just finished cleaning up after my 6 year old picked the carpeted stairs instead of the porcelain chambers
Looks like I won't make it after all!
Sorry guys.

Re: 3D Shoot in Elmira July 4th
Hey, I'll be wearing an OTB cap here and probably a hunting shirt of some kind (T-shirt that is!).
Do you know if they have a range to practice on at first? I'm still new at this and could use some shots to check my sight.

Re: 3D Shoot in Elmira July 4th
I think I'll come up and test out the new Equinox (to me anyway). Look for the guy with the normal sights (still haven't mounted the scope yet) so it looks like you have someone to beat TPM!

Re: The "Archers" are already enjoying crossbows in Oklahoma
I belong to a forum that has a guy from Kentucky who really doesn't like them either. He says that handicapped people down there can use them and that is it. I know there's some battles down in the various states but they are legal here and as I've said before, I don't care if it's legal to run them...

If you buy your license before June 30th, then just GST. But if you wait and buy a tag after June 30th, you'll be paying 8% more!

Brass Inserts
OK, I don't want to junk up the other thread referring to this, but I'm new to crossbows and wonder about upping the weight on the front of the arrow. Everything from 150 grain broadheads (I currently use Muzzy 125's) to inserting brass inserts (which I assume is heavier). Not know what arrows to ge...
