I jsut picked up a Morrell Yellow Jacket at BP for $50.00. It's a big target and it stops the bolts from my Exocet 200 no problem. The only drawback is that my Muzzy 100's are a little hard to pull out. Other styles with a more swept back profile were no problem. As for longevity, time will tell. T...

Preparing for upcoming season
As I watch these fellows feed in the field behind the house, pulse quickens, blood pressure rises and I picture getting a shot on one of these boys this fall. Hope that this picture posts okay. The deer are at 400 yards. I've been waiting to get a better chance for a photo to share, but when they ar...

Deer have changed their feeding patterns and are coming closer to the house during daylight hours than in past years. Even with the dogs outside the deer are keeping the fruit trees well pruned. In our farm area, part of Ohio, the bucks seem to be out numbering the does 3 to 1. Also have seen fawns ...

I do not own a Bushnell rangefinder but know a few who do and they are satisfied with the quality. I have looked through them during daylight hours and the look good. I own a Leica, the optics are great even in low light situations and bad weather. Since I only use the rangefinder where I hunt (arou...

Fun & Games
Last evening there were 4 bucks in the soybean field behind the house, about 200 yards distance. Three of the bucks were 120 class or better. I tried my grunt call on them. The bucks did not acknowledge that they heard the call. I got out the rattle bag. Oh, Boy did that get their attention! All fou...
