Anyone have a better way to store the string so that the length should be close to the previous year.
Ya, leave it on the bow....

BTW, love the hanger Grizzly! Looking at building something similar at our rifle camp up north.

I used to belong to a rather large huntcamp and we always did our own. I would do my own now but I have a guy who does an awesome job at a fair price. I know what to expect from butchering in the past and this guy doesn't short change me. I get back the roasts, chops and hamburger double packaged an...

I'm a little suprised at the number of people who see this as a limb issue. It's string life that I'd be more worried about. The constant flexing of the limbs from normal shooting will cause exponentially more wear on them than storing them under a bit of tension. Much like springs, they wear out fr...

I like the existing stock design, not a thumb hole fan, though it is a bit short for me. I'm in agreement that the cocking aid groove should be deeper. Not a fan the the factory quiver mount. Makes carrying your bow with a sling a real pain. I think the groundpounder mount is the best I've seen and ...

Wouldn't hurt but I don't think it's neccesary. My PSE compound has been strung since 1996 and it's fine. My buddies Wolverine has been strung since 1989 and it's fine too. I doubt the guys with compound crossbows unstring them off season.

I hate to be a dummie but I don't have a copy of the regs and I thought the season closed on Dec 31. Is it open still in Southern Ont?
Southern district used to close Dec. 31. It was extended to Jan. 4 about three years ago.

There's a couple of the bucket and dowel feeders in the area where we hunt (not mine). My wife was hunting near one and she sat and watched a squirrel run up the tree, across the branch and jump onto the top of the feeder. This caused the feeder to move enough to release some feed. He then ran down ...

There is a place for scouting and "setting up" ... but many heavily traveled trails and heavily used areas are from nocturnal deer traffic ... and it doesn't take too much "scouting" and "setting up" to seriously compromise a promising area. For instance, in some of my...

I would really like to see a thumbhole stock on Excalibur's. They look cool but make it a pain to operate the safety. I'd like to see the groundpounder mount in the line-up.(waiting) I'd second that. Considoring one for my Pheonix. :D I'd like to see a modified front sight that didn't leave the fib...

We do all our bow hunting on a local farm but we do own a hunt camp about 3 hours north of where we live. It's 100 acres bordering on about 35 acres of crown land. I bought this property years ago and it gets used for grouse hunting every year and a few days of rifle deer and moose hunting every fal...

Good post Grizzly. Unfortunately urban sprawl is wiping out a lot of good farm land in my part of the province. There has also been this epidemic of urbanites buying up rural property and they usually look at you like you have two heads when you ask them if it's okay to hunt their back forty. In the...

How do you get the arrows to enter the target so level a 110 yards? I find that even at 40 yards the arc causes them to enter at a bit of an angle.

LED light with either blue LED's or a blue filter. Blood shows up just awesome and it doesn't ruin your night vision. Filtered light allows your eyes to remain adjusted to the darkness. White light will allow you to only see where the flashlight is shining. For me regular white light flashlights are...
