Hunting Committment

This season, I am a committing myself not taking a buck unless it is three-and-half years old or older. Does anyone else on the forum practice quality deer management? If so, how does one sell this practice to the local community? From what I have seen, the guys who hunt archery and the guys who hun...

I know that it is late in the game, but Weaver (Meade Instruments) will reset the parallax on that scope to fifty yards for a nominal fee. Additionally, I would not worry about using the K2.5 on a crossbow. Weavers hold up on spring piston air rifles, and they eat scopes! In fact, I had a Weaver RV7...

There is so much money chasing the available hunting land today that I do not blame farmers for getting greedy. There are clubs here that charge $1500+ for a share of a lease.

Manufactured "in-house" versus "job shopped?&

A representative from one of Excalibur's competitors claimed that they were the only crossbow manufacturer that is not an assembler of "job shopped" parts. Other than anodizing (very few companies perform this manufacturing step due to environmental regulations), does anyone know how much ...

i'm also going to be political this year for a real champion of the constitution. a congressman from here in texas who's record is impeccable. he's working real hard to get the republican nomination for the presidential race. i don't say his name because i don't know if we're allowed to do that her...

I envy hunters that have access to private land. Having to pack all of one's gear in and out everyday gets old very quickly! I hunted from the ground last year because I gave my Summit Viper XLS to my brother-in-law. That stand was a pain to hump any distance from my vehicle. I am looking at getting...

Having worked professionally with computers since 1979 and having used the Internet since it was called the ARPANET, I sometimes forget that most Baby Boomers are barely computer literate. If it were not for the Internet, I too would have never discovered Excalibur crossbows.

Excalibur used to offer the Paradox, which was a wheeled crossbow.

Infatuation with wheeled crossbows?

It may be because an entire generation of hunters grew up with compound bows, but I just do not see what it is that attracts so many people to “wheeled” crossbows. My local pro-shop only sells Excalibur (I turned them onto Excal four seasons ago). However, at the local Outdoor World, people always t...

Of the break-barrel jobs, the Weirauch (Beeman brand) jobs are the best-the air piston (rather than a spring) one is the best because it won't fatigue and you can vary the power by adding or deleting air to the piston. Actually, the air rifles in the Weihrauch line that are "air piston" (...

Wild hog with an AIR RIFLE??? Wow, things have come a long ways from where it was when I was a teenager. I might consider picking one of these up for 'varmint' management on my 2.5 acres but if it sounds like a .22 mag it's going to be too loud for the neighbors. Pre-charged pneumatic air rifles ar...

Any spring piston air rifle that makes a loud bang is dieseling, which is not good for the piston seal! IMHO, Gamo air rifles are junk. IMHO, the bottom-end decent quality break barrel air rifle is the Weihrauch HW95 (a.k.a. Beeman R-9). It is about as low as I will go on a spring piston air rifle. ...

I love the disclaimer on the Venom Xtreme Series tree stands. I do not believe that a company can completely disclaim all product liability. Anyone agreeing to that disclaimer is a fool because, at that price, corners have to be getting cut, and QA is usually the first thing to go!
