Good idea C.F. I would be up for something like that. The way my season has been going I don't think I will be much of a threat but it's always fun to be in a friendly competition. Infact I wouldn't be upset if their were no prizes except for bragging rights. I would be concerned about judging it th...

I watched a little spike chase a small doe last week. Every time she stopped he would have his nose to her rear and she would run a little more. He was grunting the whole time and stomping as he trotted behind her. It was great to watch. I think it will still be a while till the big boys start actin...

wish I were up north with you guys. I love the snow so much. Especialy for hunting. I will be lucky if I get 2 or 3 fresh snows by the seasons end. :( I will be even luckier if I can get those days off work to enjoy it. I hope you are planning to get out there and find some big ones. Good luck if yo...

In Virginia you used to be able to track wounded game on others property as long as you wern't armed. Just like Hawg said. I think I heard of them changing the law a while ago though. You might have to notify the landowner first before going onto his land now. I am not sure nor am I realy concercned...

Good work on the QDM C.F. I know its hard to let them walk but it is more than worth it in the long run. Your decisions today will positively impact your success for years to come. I always let them walk if they are not trophies. It is real hard though because it backfires regularly and I find mysel...

I havn't done my own in quite a while but I would always wrap the meat in saran wrap first then freezer paper. Ziplock freezer bags would also work well or a vacume sealer. It depends on how long you plan to store the meat before it is all gone. I would double up on wraps if I don't think I will be ...

Congratulations C.F. Nice buck. What a great way to start the season. It always feels good to get that first one under your belt. It may just be me but it always seems like the first one is the hardest to get. After that the rest come easy. I am itching to get out there myself with the cold front co...

I got a RX-2 a week ago. I am still undecided but so far it hasn't worked to my expectations. I like the TBR function but I don't know if I can trust it because it doesn't seem too accurate. They advertise accuracy of + or - 1 yard but I held it still on a target of mine and ranged it several times ...

I don't know how many I have shot, probably around 15. I have cleanly missed atleast 5. I lost three that I can remember. All were bucks, two eights and one was atleast ten. One was hit with my shotgun atleast once out of two shots, while running. He left decent blood but it was also dropping little...

I love hunting in unfavorable conditions like wind and rain. There are never many people out in bad weather so it feels like I have the place to myself which is great. Still hunting is wonderfull in the wind because the deer have a lot of trouble seeing you with all of the movement, hearing you with...

I have used remingtons for most of my life and I have nothing bad to say about them. I did have a Mossberg made for shooting slugs and it didn't compare to my Remmingtons. Tye, if you always use a rifle for big game then I would suggest you get a smooth bore for waterfowl and small game. Then you ca...
